In order to enhance the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, Zhuzhou City Hunan Province formed a so-called "Conquering the Elite" team in July 2002.

This "Conquering the Elite" team was located in an isolated corner on the 3rd floor of the labour camp. Practitioners were isolated and placed in solitary confinement under the constant surveillance of three drug offenders. They did not allow practitioners to sleep or use the toilet, and they forced them to read materials denouncing Dafa. One was forced to sign the "Guarantee Letters" [Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practise Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners]or else face unending confinement. The confinement cell was only 16 square feet. Even when the temperature reached 100 degrees in the cell, all practitioners were still forced to wear motorcycle helmets and they were not allowed to bathe for a week.

All the detained practitioners who were aware of this situation went on a hunger strike to protest this persecution and to demand the abolition of the "Conquering the Elite" team. In response to the hunger strike, the police at the camp dragged the protesting practitioners to the 3rd floor. Each practitioner was force-fed by 7 or 8 drug addicts. They brutally forced soup and concentrated salt water down the throats of the practitioner once every half hour by violently forcing spoons into their mouths. Some practitioners who endured this torture received blisters in their mouths or developed coughs that remain to this day. During the force feeding, the soup and salt water was spilled all over the practitioners' bodies, but they were not allowed to bathe until one week later when their hair was matted and sticky. Mental and physical torture immediately followed the forced feeding. The practitioners were then handcuffed in a painful position and forced to read materials that defamed Dafa. At night, each practitioner was forced to stand on a stack of unstable chairs. They were not allowed to close their eyes; if they did, the guards would apply a pungent and harsh chemical to their eyes.

Sometimes, due to tiredness, practitioners could not stand upright, so the chairs would fall down. These practitioners would then be beaten by criminals. The camp guards also tortured practitioners who shouted, "Falun Dafa is good" with electric batons. Many practitioners were so badly beaten that they could not stand, and it took them a long time to recover. Furthermore, any practitioner who could not stand long enough would be forced to stand inside a tall steel basin. Practitioners' hands were handcuffed to a bed, yet they were not allowed to rest. The drug offenders placed three layers of chairs behind their waists to detect any movement. If they moved, it would cause the chairs to collapse, and they would then be beaten by the criminals. Some criminals even placed chair legs on the toes of the practitioners and forcefully stomped on the chair.

Under such severe persecution, at the end of October 2002, practitioner Ms. Chen Ouxiang was tortured to death at this forced labour camp.
