Chengdu city Dafa practitioner Ms. Qing Mingzhen was detained twice by Xiaotianzhu Police Station and sentenced to a forced labour camp for going to Beijing to validate Dafa on November 29, 1999.

In March 2000, Qing Mingzhen, along with her nine-year-old daughter, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was stopped by Xiaotianzhu Police Station director Zhang Xiaode and Xiaotianzhu Neighborhood administration officer Wang in front of the Beijing Appeal Office. She was sent back to her hometown and detained for over thirty days before being imprisoned for one year in a forced labour camp. She was also dismissed from her job at Chengdu City Telecommunications Office because of her firm belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

In December 2000, truth-clarifying materials were found in the dormitory building where Qing Mingzhen lived. The police station once again put Qing Mingzhen into a forced labour camp for one and a half years. She was not released from the forced labour camp until June 2002. In early July, together with her brother, sister-in-law and nephews, Qing Mingzhen had a vacation in her relatives' house in Hongyuan, Sichuan province. Xiaotianzhu government official Ms. Lin Hongxia constantly telephoned to harass her. Xiaotianzhu police station and the local government office even sent people to Hongyuan to tail and watch over her, which caused tremendous stress to her family. This continued until her return to Chengdu.

Only a few days later, when Qing Mingzhen visited her daughter at her mother-in-law's house, more than ten policemen harassed her by telephoning her from the front door of the dormitory at 1 o'clock in the morning. Her nearly 70-year-old parents and all the family members in her sister and brother's house were scared; the disturbance caused her father-in-law's high blood pressure to relapse. A few days later, not even ten minutes after Qing Mingzhen returned home, three people including the superintendent from Xiaotianzhu Police Station came to her house and wanted to forcibly take her to the police station. Her mother and sister-in-law stood up against the persecution and refused to let them in, so the policemen did not succeed. However, their house was placed under close surveillance, and more than ten people from the community officers came to their house to threaten and intimidate her with every means. The next morning, deceived by the police, Qing Mingzhen's brother sent her to the "Wuhou Legal System Learning Class," which is actually a brainwashing centre. Qing Mingzhen did not cooperate with any instructions from the police, so police captain Liu slapped her face heavily 18 times in front of the family, causing her dizziness and profuse bleeding from her nose. Police then handcuffed her hands behind her back to a tree. With righteous thoughts, Qing Mingzhen left the brainwashing centre, and now has become destitute and homeless.

Later, police searched her relatives' houses for her in a frenzy, and they even went to the Beijing Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp to investigate. They visited her relatives' house and her in-laws' house in Hongyuan numerous times. Using threats they ordered the family members to report immediately once they discovered Qing Mingzhen whereabouts and to send her to a forced labour camp. Around New Year, the police attempted to catch her, as they had watched her house in Jianyang for nearly a month and looked everywhere for her with her picture. Her work unit has also taken a wicked approach: "Employees who are found to be practising Falun Gong will be dismissed immediately once discovered." Practitioners, please clarify the truth using every possible means.
