Hebei Province Dafa practitioner, Ms. Sun Yanqing, died of forced feeding three years ago in the Xuanhua District Hospital. She was in her 40's and worked at the Mechanical Maintenance Facility of the Xuanhua District Steel Works in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Ms. Sun was abducted when she went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Dafa. Her condition became critical after she was tortured by being force-fed during a week-long hunger strike. Ms. Sun died a few days later after she was sent back to Xuanhua and hospitalised. She left behind a young son, less than ten years old. A co-worker at the Mechanical Maintenance Facility of the Xuanhua District Steel Works (86-313-8673380) in Zhangjiakou City confirmed that Sun Yanqing was a Falun Gong practitioner and that she died more than two years ago.
Based on available information, the "610 Office"[1] and the Public Security Bureau of Zhangjiakou City have tortured to death at least eleven Falun Gong practitioners in that city. Most of them were women in their 50's. Their cases are presented below:
Ms. Yang Yufang, 47, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Ms. Yang was abducted by the police from a house in the vicinity of the Ningyuanbao area, Qiaodong District, Zhangjiakou City on May 17, 2003. In less than a month, she was tortured to death at the Shisanli Detention Centre in Zhangjiakou City, on June 16, 2003.
Chen Hongping was a 32-year-old Falun Gong practitioner. She lived in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She and her sister Chen Shulan were abducted and beaten by the Donghuayuan police at the Donghuayuan bus station in Huailai County. Her legs were broken and she was vomiting blood. Ms. Chen was taken to the Gaoyang Labour Camp and was subjected to further torture, as well as round-the-clock brainwashing. After more than a year and a half of nonstop torture, Chen Hongping was in critical condition. After the authorities sent her back home, she died on March 5, 2003.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Cuiling was 52 years old and lived in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. On May 5, 2002, the police abducted her at Tiananmen Square, where she had gone to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Song received the same inhumane torture as other practitioners at the Zhangjiakou Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was tortured to death on May 20, 2002.
Ms. Jiang Shuhua was a 50-year-old Falun Gong practitioner who lived in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She was abducted on February 8, 2002. Ms. Jiang was tortured to death at 1:00 a.m. on March 3, 2002.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Yumei was 55 and lived in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She had been abducted several times by the police and suffered detention, forced labor education and torture. Ms. Sun was forced to leave her home in order to avoid persecution and arrest. Due to her weakening physical condition caused by the persecution, Ms. Sun died while away from her home in Yutian, Hebei Province.
Ms. Zhang Zhigen was a 53-year-old Falun Gong practitioner. She worked in the Zhangjiakou Embroidery Factory. In April 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. The Zhangjiakou "610 Office" deputies detained her at the Xuanhua Detention Centre for seventeen days. There she suffered severe torture and one of her legs was amputated. Ms. Zhang was tortured to death on February 25, 2001.
Ms. Wang Ailing, a 51-year-old Dafa practitioner, worked at the Zhangjiakou Printing Factory in Hebei Province. She went to Beijing numerous times to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong, and had been detained six times. In December 2000 she was sent to the Xuanhua Detention Centre. Ms. Wang was released only after she was in critical condition caused by severe torture. After she was sent back home she could no longer take care of herself and she died on May 15, 2001.
Ms. Zhu Yourong, a Dafa practitioner in her 40's, lived in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She was brutally tortured while being detained at the Women's Second Brigade in the First Forced Labour Camp of Hebei Province. She died on December 16, 2000 at the labour camp.

Ms. Fan was abducted when she went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong in May 2000. The Zhangjiakou "610" officials sent her to the Shalingzi Mental Hospital, where she was forcefully injected with nerve damaging drugs. Ms. Fan was sentenced to three years forced labour education in June 2000. She was brutally tortured at the Tangshan Forced Labour Camp. The labour camp released her only after she was in critical condition, in the later half of 2000. She died the day after she arrived home.
Mr. Chen Aizhong was 33 and was a Falun Gong practitioner living in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City in Hebei Province. He was sent to the Sixth Brigade of Hehuakeng Labour Camp in Tangshan City, on September 12, 2000. He went on a hunger strike after suffering brutal torture. Mr. Chen died after being force-fed on September 20, 2000, after only eight days in the labour camp.
