Ms. Luu Guiling, is a 40-year-old Dafa practitioner from Weihai City, Shandong Province. Ms. Luu was illegally sentenced to 19 years in a forced labour camp because she assisted in broadcasting Falun Dafa truth-clarification video programmes on Chinese TV. She is currently held in the Jinan provincial female prison, Shandong Province. She has been on a hunger strike for nearly two months in order to protest against her maltreatment. Her life hangs by a thread.
On April 28, 2001, the police seized Ms. Luu Guiling and held her for over a month. Upon her release, Ms. Luu was forced into homelessness. To clarify the truth to the Chinese public about the Jiang Zemin regime's persecution of Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners, Ms. Luu felt compelled to assist in broadcasting Falun Dafa truth clarification TV programmes on Chinese TV. Seven days before the 2002 Chinese New Year, the police seized Ms. Luu Guiling again, took her to Weihai, where she received an illegal and outrageous 19 year prison sentence.
Ms. Luu Guiling held a six-month hunger strike while in the detention centre. The police asked her husband to take her home, because she was near death. They feared potential legal ramifications if she should die in jail. Shortly after she regained her health, the police came to her home on September 21, 2003 and seized her again. The police transferred Ms. Luu the following day, September 21, to the Jinan provincial female prison where she was subjected to all kinds of torture, including forced brainwashing. At this time, Ms. Luu Guiling had been on a two-month hunger strike. The prison staff tortured her daily through cruel force-feeding. They poured unidentified drugs into the liquid food, which further damaged her health. Ms. Luu was a perfectly healthy person. What is her physical condition now? Ms. Luu's body is now only skin and bones, her muscles are atrophied and her lips are cracked. She has lost her strength and ability to move or speak! Her life is in danger! Even though her circumstances have turned worse, the prison guards frequently harass her family at home. They know no shame and extort money from them, causing them much distress.
