On January the 3rd, Dutch Falun Gong practitioners mourned for Liu Chengjun in front of the Chinese embassy in The Hague. They protested against the Jiang regime’s persecution of Falun Gong and demanded that the instigators be severely punished. In the meantime, they called for the public’s concern regarding nearly one hundred other Falun Gong practitioners who have been imprisoned together with Liu Chengjun in Jilin, so as to prevent this tragedy from happening again.
Recently, the weather in Holland has been unusual. Originally it was pretty warm, but suddenly it started snowing and the temperature plummeted drastically. The on-duty police officers saw practitioners sitting tranquilly in the freezing cold weather and got out of their car to ask us if we were able keep warm. When they heard the facts about the murder of Liu Chengjun, they accepted some more information about the persecution; they wished us success and expressed hope that this persecution will end soon. Passers-by were shocked to learn about Liu Chengjun. After spotting our banners, bicycle riders gave the thumbs up sign to encourage us. Some car-drivers even honked their horns to express support.
On March the 5th 2002, Liu Chengjun and other Falun Gong practitioners in the city of Changchun successfully tapped into a TV system in mainland China to broadcast Falun Gong truth-clarification videos and break through the Jiang regime’s control over the mass media. This heroic feat not only aroused people’s awareness in China and around the world, but also exposed the regime’s slanderous lies; it dealt a tremendous blow to the evil persecutors.
Since Jiang Zemin has relied on lies to proceed with this persecution, the incident must have left him extremely scared. He thus gave a secret order to “kill the responsible Falun Gong practitioners without pardon.” Afterwards a massive killing spree was launched in Changchun and the rest of Jilin Province. 5,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Changchun were arrested. Among them, at least six were beaten to death. After Liu Chengjun was kidnapped on March 24th 2002, he suffered brutal torture for 21 months, and his life was finally taken from him.
