France: The French Falun Dafa Association held a Press Conference in Strasbourg

On the morning of February the 11th 2004, the French Falun Dafa Association held a press conference in Strasbourg to let the local media know the facts about the behaviour of the French police and their irrational arrest and detention of Falun Gong practitioners on the streets of Paris. They appealed to the public to pay attention to this serious matter, which shows Jiang’s regime extending the persecution of Falun Gong to western society.

In an urgent appeal to the reporters at the press conference to stand up for an end to this cruel persecution and the killing of innocent people in China, renowned Australian artist Zhang Cuiying talked about her experiences of being spiritually persecuted and cruelly tortured in a Chinese labour camp for eight months. Mrs. Zhang said, “Due to the small minority taking their own course of action in the Chinese Government, Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted for four years. Recently, [the Jiang regime] adopted a method in which they offer economic incentives to spread lies and anger against Falun Gong to western societies. Examples of the Jiang regimes’ extension of their persecution of Falun Gong to overseas countries include the incidents in Germany and in Iceland several years ago and the irrational imprisonment of Falun Gong practitioners by the French police last week. I appeal to kindhearted people to work together so that the chief offender, Jiang Zemin, can be dealt with according to the law.

Spokesperson of the French Falun Gong Association Mrs. Dominique thoroughly introduced Dafa practitioners’ belief in “Truthfulness, Benevolence, Tolerance” and the practice’s miraculous effects on curing illnesses and improving health. She also described the truth about Falun Gong practitioners being cruelly persecuted in China. The media reporters paid attention to this and raised certain questions that western society is concerned about.
