On the afternoon of the 19th of February, Falun Gong practitioner and Australian artist Ms. Zhang Cuiying accompanied Dutch practitioners to visit Mr. Dehan, Chairman of the Dutch Foreign Affairs Committee. Mr. Dehan’s secretary, two other members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and another person who was interested in Falun Gong were also present.
Zhang Cuiying talked about her personal experience of being illegally imprisoned in a Chinese forced labour camp for eight months, after she returned to peacefully appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. She was brutally tortured and only regained her freedom after pressure was exerted on the Jiang regime by the Australian Government and international media. Ms. Zhang also talked about her involvement in a United Nations lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and her hopes that in the near future, Jiang will be punished by law for persecuting Falun Gong. Mr. Dehan said that the Dutch Government continues to hold a deep concern for China’s suppression of human rights and that he cherished this opportunity to hear Zhang Cuiying personally talk about the unjust treatment she was subject to. Finally, Mr. Dehan wished Ms. Zhang success in fulfilling her hopes.
This meeting ended on a harmonious note. Dutch practitioners and Zhang Cuiying then held a press conference.
