On the evening of May the 1st, RFI reported the following item of news on its Chinese Broadcasting Channel:
It was International Labour Day yesterday and over seven hundred Falun Gong practitioners from around the world gathered in Hong Kong to attend the 2004 Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference.
According to reports from CNA, these Falun Gong practitioners came from Taiwan, Canada, Australia, America, Malaysia, Thailand, Macao and Hong Kong.
Huang Jieyi, the contact person for Falun Gong in Hong Kong, told a CNA reporter that some practitioners had been prevented from entering Hong Kong by the authorities.
Today, Falun Gong practitioners will practise the exercises together in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park and will hold a press conference with the name ‘Peace, Rationality, Against the Persecution’ followed by a big parade to show solidarity against the persecution of Falun Gong.
