Daqing Practitioner Mr. Wang Chuanping Tortured to Death

Mr. Wang Chuanping, 53, was a laid off worker from the Third Oil Extraction Factory in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. He started to practise Falun Gong in 1996. After Jiang's regime started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing twice to appeal and was arrested both times. The second time he was detained at the Daqing Labour Camp. One year later, in May 2001, he was released. In June that year, he went to visit his hometown, Shaoxing City in Zhejiang Province. He was arrested again while distributing truth-clarification materials there. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison and jailed in Shaoxing Prison, where he was brutally tortured. As a result, he developed liver problems and had swelling all over his body. The police didn't release him until he was in grave danger. He passed away at the end of April 2004.
