It was a gorgeous, sunny day in Cambridge on Sunday August the 21st. Practitioners held a second anti-torture exhibition in the city centre to expose the genocide against Falun Gong, which was planned and initiated by Jiang Zemin and is taking place right now in Mainland China. Information boards were set up alongside exhibits in which several methods of torture used in Chinese prisons and labour camps to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong were demonstrated by actors in realistic make-up.
As crowds gathered to take a look at the exhibition and read the information on the display boards, practitioners were on hand to answer questions about Falun Gong and the persecution. Most people just could not believe that they had never heard about it before and were eager to show their support by signing the petition. Even very young children wanted to sign. One man signed the petition and asked lots of questions including, "Why don't the practitioners just give up Falun Gong when faced with such horror?” He said he was a coward and couldn't imagine what it would take to stand up for what he believed in like that.
Several locals asked about classes after seeing demonstrations of the Falun Gong exercises. 2100 petition signatures were collected in total during Saturday and Sunday’s activities and lots of people, including some of the many visiting Chinese, learned more about Falun Gong and the persecution.
