Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chu Guiren from Jilin Province Is Tortured to Death

The family members of Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Chu Guiren from Qianguo County, Jilin Province, have been jailed six times with sentences totalling nine years because they have tried to be good people and validate the fact that Falun Dafa is good, that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are good. Mr. Chu Guiren was very frightened after being tortured in the Jiutai Forced Labour Camp. He suffered a mental collapse as well as uremic poisoning, combined with kidney stones. He died on January 16, 2005.

Mr. Chu Guiren was 46 years old and used to be hot tempered, often beating his wife and children. He was a heavy smoker and this resulted in bronchitis, chest pain, and weight loss. After beginning cultivation of Falun Dafa in 1997, he realized that good will be rewarded with good, and that evil will be met with retribution. From then on he tried to be a good person according to the requirements of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. His family relationships became harmonious, he was peaceful with his neighbours, and all his sicknesses were eliminated. Falun Dafa changed him into a healthy person, and everyone who knew him thought he was a good person.

After 1999 when Jiang Zemin and his regime started to persecute Falun Gong, Mr. Chu Guiren went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was arrested and taken back to his hometown. They detained him in the County Detention Centre. The police tortured him by pouring 17 buckets of cold water onto his body and forcing him to sleep on an icy, cold cement floor for two months. Police also extorted from his family members 4 thousand yuan (1). Police and their agents repeatedly harassed him after being released to his home. The Hongguang Farm took away Mr. Chu's contracted land and fined him more than ten thousand yuan. Mr. Chu Guiren's wife is currently detained in the Changchun Women's Labour Camp because she also believes in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

One evening in the summer of 2000, the Hongguang Police Substation Director and police from Qiangua County Police Station forced their way into Mr. Chu's home. The police abducted him and sentenced him to one year in the labour camp. He served the sentence in the Jiutai Labour Camp of Jilin province, where he was brutally beaten by a prisoner, resulting his hearing being damaged. The labour camp nevertheless forced him to do heavy labour, resulting in a severe injury to his right leg. The labour camp refused him any medical treatment and forced him to continue the hard labour.

In May 2001, the third day after Mr. Chu was released from the Jiutai Labour Camp, local policeman Zhang Zhen and other police officers threatened him several times. His home was located across the road from the No.5 Branch Farm Headquarters. Former Party Secretary Xu Jun said, "I am closely monitoring Chu Guiren's actions. I know every little move he makes at home."

Because of these villainous threats and continual monitoring, Mr. Chu's friends and their families were too afraid to visit his family, leaving Mr. Chu feeling isolated, lonely and deeply hurt inside. He felt scared whenever a vehicle went past his house. He kept his door tightly closed during the day and could not sleep well during the nights. Even when his friends and family sent him to the hospital when he was severely sick, he believed they were sending him to a brainwashing class.

One evening in March 2002, police went to Mr. Chu's house, knocked down the door and the windows, and threatened him. In the Spring of 2002, two police officers went to his house to take photos of him, forced him to write a "guarantee statement" (2), and threatened to send him to a labour camp if he continued to hold to the principles of Falun Dafa, Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They even threatened his parents, who were in their 60's.

One day in the winter of 2002, only his daughter was at home. police broke their door lock, broke their glass window, ransacked the house and harassed the girl, who was terrified.

In December 2002, Mr. Chu's father, son, and sister-in-law (her husband, Mr. Chu's third younger brother was in the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp in Changchun City at the time) were sent to labour camps together. His elderly mother almost died from the stress of this attack on her family. The first son in the family, Mr. Chu Guiren, collapsed mentally and his physical condition deteriorated rapidly.

After three of his family members had been sent to the labour camps, police came again to harass Mr. Chu, forcing him to write a guarantee letter to stop practising Falun Gong.

In January 2005, Mr. Chu's condition drastically worsened. He had bloody urine. He could not think or speak clearly nor could he recognize his family members. When his mind cleared a little, he firmly believed in Falun Dafa, feeling regret that he could not walk out to tell everyone, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is being wronged!"

On January 14, 2005, his friends and family sent him to the hospital when his life was in danger. The doctor diagnosed that he suffered from uremia, together with kidney stones, bladder stones as well as problems caused by his mental collapse. He died on January 16, 2005.
