The Persecution of Ms. Ta Yueping

Ms. Ta Yueping, who is in her 40s, is from Enping City, Guangdong Province. Before being persecuted, she was very healthy, always had a rosy face, and lived in a harmonious family. She worked in a private enterprise, and followed the Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance to diligently complete her work. She was honest and friendly to everyone, so her boss really respected her. Her boss trusted her very much, allowing her to manage the store key and money.

Through firmly believing in Falun Dafa and seeing the maliciousness of the evil persecution, Yueping increased her cultivation efforts. She used righteous thoughts and manners to validate Dafa's beauty to others around her. She did all that she could to tell people the truth about Falun Dafa and expose the Chinese Communist Party's deception.

Enping City 610 Office (1) personnel and policemen continuously threatened and bothered Yueping. They pressured her boss and threatened her family members, giving Yueping much stress. Policemen illegally abducted Yueping three times, taking her to brainwashing classes to persecute her. The first two were carried out in a private prison in the Jiangfeng Hotel. The third was held at a drug rehabilitation centre. At that time, because Yueping was fearful she signed a guarantee statement (2) against her own conscience. After she was released, she realized her mistake, and wrote a solemn declaration saying, "The 'guarantee statement' I wrote is null and void, and I will practise cultivation until the end."

To avoid further persecution from the 610 Office and policemen, Yueping had no choice but to leave home. In April 2000, she was again arrested and brought to the Enping City Police Station. Early the next morning Yueping managed to escape. The police of Enping City sent personnel throughout city to search for her. They searched everywhere she might go, including her friends' and relatives' homes, but found nothing. They continuously called her parents late at night to threaten them and force them to turn Yueping in, which caused the two elderly parents to live in fear and pain. In addition, 610 Office personnel persecuted Yueping's family members by freezing bank accounts, tapping phone lines, and sending spies. In this scheme of total persecution, Yueping's husband was even forced to divorce her.

In April of 2004, Yueping was arrested again. The police fabricated a crime and sentenced her to 10 years in prison. She is currently detained at the Guangzhou Women's Prison.

(1) "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) "Guarantee Statement": A statement to declare that one is remorseful for practising Falun Gong and guarantees not to practise Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.
