On October 26, 2001, a 22-year-old woman was arrested while she was validating Falun Dafa in Tiananmen Square. While being held in the Dongcheng Detention Centre of the Beijing Public Security Bureau, she went on a hunger strike to protest her illegal detention. She was tortured to death on November 3, 2001.
Since this practitioner did not tell the police her name and address, her corpse was secretly handled by the Dongcheng police. We hope people who know this young lady can provide relevant information and try their best to inform her family members. She was about 1.6 metres tall, had her hair cut short and spoke fluent Mandarin. On the day she was arrested, she was wearing a red shirt, red trousers, red socks and a red coat.
There are simply too many similar tragedies happening in China to be numbered. For their refusal to give up their belief in Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance, practitioners are tortured to death and their remains are disposed of with no respect. Their unsuspecting family members long for the day when they can reunite.
According to statistics from insiders in the Chinese government, from the end of July 1999 to the end of 2001, the actual death toll of practitioners tortured to death exceeds 1,600, while the government's attempt to hide the truth from the outside world has been successful in that the number of deaths sources overseas have been able to verify is only about 350.
