France: Introducing Falun Gong in Paris and Exposing the Persecution

On August 13th 2005, Parisian Falun Gong practitioners held an activity to promote Falun Gong at Place d’Italie on the southeast bank of the river Seine.

Colourful banners drew many people's attention, as did photos detailing evidence of the persecution . People read leaflets distributed by practitioners while others gave the thumbs up sign to encourage us. Although there were still some Chinese nationals who refused to accept leaflets, more than usual accepted them happily and said thanks. Some commented that the exercises were graceful, or asked practitioners to teach them on the spot. People began to discuss the Chinese Communist Party's abuse of human rights. The truth about Falun Gong spreads wider and wider.

During the activity, a member of Amnesty International passed by. She listened to a practitioner's explanation of the background to the persecution, and wrote down our details of our website. She said she would report to Amnesty International, and said she wished that basic human rights could be defended.
