Falun Gong practitioners in Denmark filed a lawsuit on Sunday 28th August against Mr. Jia Chunwang, one of the central figures in China’s Gestapo — the ”610 Office” — for crimes committed against the UN Convention Against Torture.
Mr. Jia Chunwang, who is China’s Procurator General, is currently on Danish territory, where he will be partaking in an international conference for prosecutors being held in Copenhagen.
As one of the central figures in the ”610 Office”, which was specifically established in 1999 to comply with and coordinate the Communist regime’s demand that Falun Gong practitioners be destroyed both physically and psychologically, Mr. Jia Chunwang bears direct responsibility for the horrible crimes that have been committed during the illegal persecution of Falun Gong. Also, while he was minister of public security from July 1999 to December 2002, Mr. Jia Chunwang organized, ordered and encouraged the large-scale arrest and torture of Falun Gong practitioners through the police force and the national system for public security. After Mr. Jia Chunwang became Procurator General, he conspired and promoted torture in prisons and detention-centres thereby transforming the judicial system into a tool for the unlawful persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
Among the plaintiffs is Liu Xiaotian, who currently resides in Denmark. He went through tremendous psychological pain and horror, when at the age of 15 his parents where arrested and later tortured to death. The psychological pressure was so heavy that he lost his capability of speech and became mentally unstable. Yang Tianle, another plaintiff, saw his family shattered by persecution when his mother was illegally sentenced to a three year prison term in harsh conditions.

The Lawsuit has already caught the attention of Danish society, with all major newspapers and TV-stations reporting on it and awaiting what steps the Danish authorities will take concerning Mr. Jia Chunwang.
The famous Human Rights lawyer Tyge Trier, who represents the Falun Gong practitioners, told the press, “It’s a serious case. What we hope will come out of it, is that there be a thorough investigation by the State Prosecutor, that Chunwang will be questioned and that he be apprehended if that is necessary to keep him in the country while the case is investigated.”
Spokesperson for the Danish Falun Gong Association Marco Hsu said, ” Maybe he represents a country with some power, but he is also something else: he is a representative of a repressive regime and one of the leaders of the “610 Office”, an office whose sole purpose is to persecute Falun Gong. In his period as minister of public security, several thousand Falun Gong practitioners where murdered.”
