Mr. Wang Jinian, 34 years old, was born in Baishan City, Jilin Province. He worked in Changchun City. Before he practised Falun Gong, he suffered from muscular weakness (myasthenia), had no strength in his body and walked slowly. He recovered his health after he started practising Falun Dafa. In 2001, a local policeman arrested him. He was sent to the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp in Changchun City and was tortured for one year. In December, the camp authorities released him due to the extreme weakness of his body. Because of the severe torture, his condition worsened. He died in January 2002 about 20 days after he returned home.

At the beginning of 2003, another Falun Dafa practitioner called Mr. Zhang Quanfu was tortured to death. Mr. Zhang was 65 years old. As soon as he was sent to the 5th Division in Chaoyanggou Labour Camp, he was required to squat for nearly one hour as a punishment. His head had to touch the wall, his hands had to circle his knees and both knees and toes had to touch the wall as well. If these requirements were not met, he would be kicked. However, Mr. Zhang had a steel plate inserted in one leg and could not bend his leg. In spite of his disability, the guard Mao kicked him once. Later Mr. Zhang was transferred to the sixth division. There he was forced to sit on a small stool every day. He was made to sit from around 7 a.m. in the morning until after 9 p.m. in the evening, and sometimes even after 10 p.m. In less than half a year, Mr. Zhang's body suffered from scabies. The scab on the back of his hand was about 2 cm thick. One day I noticed that his scab had disappeared and the pink tissue was visible. Later, I heard from the camp personnel that the guard burned him with boiling water. At that time, Mr. Zhang was in extreme pain and shouted "Falun Dafa is good" as a way of protesting the torture.

The guard kicked Mr. Zhang to the ground and chained him to the bed head post for an entire morning so that he could neither stand nor squat. He was extremely exhausted and could not walk downstairs for lunch. The division head Li Zhongbo asked four camp personnel to carry him to the cafeteria. The camp authorities saw the situation but did nothing to remedy the situation. Only when he was on the verge of death, was he finally sent to the hospital. Mr. Zhang Quanfu passed away in less than a day after he was sent to the hospital.

Another person named Yu Donghui was a vice principal of the City Communist Party School at Liaoyuan City. His health was very good when he was sent to the labour Camp. However, after suffering the "sitting on a small stool" torture for one year, he had scabies and his body was swollen. One morning, he fainted and the camp personnel did not send him to the hospital immediately. Instead, they called his family member in Liaoyuan City, which is far away. When his family member came, they asked for three thousand yuan1as a guarantee fee before they would release him. His family member did not bring that much money, so the camp personnel, who did not obey the laws anyway, actually followed the family member to Liaoyuan for the money. In addition, they extorted 2000 yuan more from him for the "travel fee" and "tip."

1. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
