As a result of police brutality at the Jinzhou City Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province, several Falun Gong practitioners are in critical condition.
Practitioner Miao Jianguo was in critical condition on December 2nd, 2005 after long-term torture and persecution. To evade responsibility, Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp authorities sent him to the Jinzhou City Hospital and later to the University Hospital. Both hospitals refused to accept him. They finally dropped Miao Jianguo at the Guta District Hospital and handed him over to his family members before taking off.
The next day, December 3rd, around 1:00 p.m, six guards from the labour camp forced their way into Miao Jianguo parents' house and arrested Miao Jianguo again. Despite his critical condition, Mr. Miao has been detained in Team Two in the Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp. His physical condition is critical. According to reliable information, Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp leaders held an emergency meeting on December 3rd, 2005. Mr. Miao was arrested right after the meeting because they were afraid that he might expose their persecution of Falun Gong practitioners to the public.
Recently, guards in the Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp intensified their violence against Falun Gong practitioners who refused to give up their belief. The guards who are responsible for the recent attacks are Bai Jinlong, Li Songtao, Zhang Chunfeng and Yang Tinglun. In addition, the guards also assigned criminal inmates to torture practitioners. In August 2005, practitioner Liu Cheng lost most of his hearing after long-term torture. Early one morning when inmate Pan Xuehai called to wake Liu Cheng up, Mr. Liu did not hear him clearly and reacted a bit slowly. Pan Xuehai and Jiang Hui beat him very badly; consequently, Liu Cheng's face was disfigured, he bled from his mouth and had a broken nose. After that incident, policemen Bai Jinlong, Li Songtao and Zhang Chunfeng praised inmates Pan and Jiang on multiple occasions for their violence. This made these two criminals even more violent.
Several days ago, Pan Xuehai severely beat practitioner Jiao Lin without reason. He kicked Jiao Lin so hard that one of his leather shoes broke.
Currently, practitioner Liu Chunwang is subject to a daily torture routine--he is forced to sit on a tiny stool from 4:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. while inmates monitor him constantly. He is not allowed to move even slightly; otherwise, they will cruelly beat him or subject him to other special torture.
All practitioners suffer from different tortures every day; their situation is extremely difficult. To resist the evil persecution, some practitioners staged hunger strikes.
Practitioner Qi Mingli began a hunger strike on November 18, over two weeks ago. On December 6th, the extremely feeble Qi Mingli was sent to the Jinzhou City Hospital Emergency Room. When his mother and mother-in-law arrived at the hospital to see him, the police did not let them in. The police even ordered his mother to pay the emergency fee. They told her if she didn't pay, her son would not be treated. The police also pushed Qi Mingli's mother-in-law around, several times knocking her to the floor. They threatened to arrest the two older ladies if they insisted on seeing him.
These hunger-striking practitioners are now very weak. The labour camp used violent force-feeding and other tortures to stop their hunger strikes. These practitioners' lives are constantly at risk!
At this time, ten practitioners are in severely bad physical condition or are permanently disabled.
We are calling on good people and international human rights groups who learn of this report to support us in our efforts to stop the persecution.
