Elderly Ms. Fang Guiming and Ms. Wang Xiuyun Died after Being Imprisoned for Years by Their Families Due to Pressure from the Chinese Communist Party

Ms. Fang Guiming and Ms. Wang Xiuyun were elderly Dafa practitioners from Xiaoluo Village, Chongzhou City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Bullied and threatened by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), their family members detained them at home for a long time. Ms. Fang died in July 2001, and Ms. Wang in the spring of 2003.

Before beginning to practise Falun Dafa, Ms. Fang Guiming had severe rheumatoid arthritis and paralysis. She lost the ability to walk and could not take care of herself. In 1997 she was happy to find Falun Dafa. She had practised for less than half a year when her body completely recovered. Her body and mind were filled with a joy she had never before experienced. Afterwards she undertook all the housework of three generations in the family. Meanwhile, people witnessed the change in her body and mind and started to cultivate one after the other.

After July 20th, 1999, Ms. Fang's family, who had witnessed the miracle of Dafa, were threatened by Jiang Zemin's regime and the Chinese Communist Party. Threatened and bullied by the local 610 Office¹ and the party branch of the village, her family members acted as the guards of their family prison and detained her, even though she was over 70 years old, in a room less than 20 square metres. They cut her off from contact with the outside. Under such circumstances, she passed away in July 2001. She was 73 years old.

Ms. Wang Xiuyun had illnesses from head to toe and her body and mind were at the breaking point. She started practising Dafa in 1997, and after only one month, she recovered completely. She originally could hardly take care of herself and then she not only took on all the housework but also undertook the management of several acres of contracted farmland and a plot of land for personal needs.

After July 20th, 1999, Jiang Zemin's regime and all levels of the CCP threatened Ms. Wang Xiuyun's family members with the loss of their jobs and subsistence. Her family detained her at home for a long time. Although she protested repeatedly, her family members still kept her locked in a cabin not even 18 square metres. She was deprived of all freedom, and she suffered severely both physically and psychologically. She passed away in the spring of 2003. She was 63 years old.

Ms. Liu Zhifeng, a practitioner from Xingtan Village, Chongyang Town, was taken away by several policemen who broke in on January 6th, 2001. She was tortured physically and psychologically, When she died on February 4th, she was skin and bones. When her family wanted to seek justice, the police clamoured, "She has been sent to the crematory. Ask Jiang Zemin for justice!" The police viciously framed her on TV and said, "Liu Zhifeng died because she practised Falun Gong and did not take medicine."

Lu Qiongfang and Du Yuqing were practitioners from Chengguan Fifth Brigade in Chongyang Town. Policeman Zhang Tiantian and other police from Chongzhou cruelly tortured them. As a result of the torture they had to lie in bed all the time and could not move. Lu passed away in the middle of September 2003 and Du in February 2004.

At present, the 610 Office in Chongzhou still persecutes Dafa practitioners. They encourage all police substations in the rural areas and towns and public security offices to utilise undercover operations to monitor, follow, ransack and rob practitioners.
