Four Practitioners Known to Be Missing from Beijing City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Dalian City

Case 1: Practitioner Mr. Xia Anjun from Beijing City

Practitioner Mr. Xia Anjun was born in 1963 and used to be a staff member at the Beijing Forestry University. During the time that he was detained for practising Falun Gong, the persecutors sent messages to his family members, claiming that Mr. Xia had run away during a recess on April 18th, 2001. However, Mr. Xia did not return home and his family members still do not know whether he is still alive.

Case 2: Practitioner Mr. Wang Wei from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

Practitioner Mr. Wang Wei was held for three months in the Kuerle City Detention Centre, beginning at the end of 2000, after the authorities at the Kuerle City Train Station in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region conducted a search and found that he was carrying Falun Dafa books. For three days and three nights, seven police officers from Shihezi City continuously tortured Mr. Wang. The inmates from the same room said that every day, they could see signs of beating on Wang Wei when he returned to the room. In February 2001, Mr. Wang was taken away by police and his whereabouts have since been unclear.

Case 3 and Case 4: Practitioners Ms. Liu Chunxia and Ms. Xu Menglan from Dalian City

Practitioner Ms. Liu Chunxia is in her twenties and lived in the Wafangdian District of Dalian City. She had an assumed name, Li Zhihui. On April 20th, 2002, Ms. Liu and an older practitioner, Ms. Xu Menglan, were both arrested by police in the Fengtai District of Beijing City. Since then, her whereabouts have been unknown.

Practitioner Ms. Xu Menglan is in her fifties. She was arrested along with Ms. Liu Chunxia in the Fengtai District of Beijing City in 2002, but was released and returned to Dalian City. Recently, Ms. Xu suddenly disappeared in Dalian City. For the past several months, those who had been in contact with her have all been unable to contact her, including her husband and son.
