The Central News Agency reported on June 22nd, 2006 that Tainan City Council passed a resolution denouncing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and decided to contact all county and city councils to write letters to the UN and the CCP State Department.
More than 30 members of Tainan City Council co-signed and adopted the resolution. Councilor Chen Ting-Fei said that this is an human rights issue, there should be no difference between parties. We should let China learn about our indignation.
On May 24th, 2006, on the first scheduled meeting of the 16th council, the Tainan City Council passed a resolution "condemning the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and illegal trade of human organs." This was another resolution, followed by the resolutions passed by councils of Chayi County, Ilan County and Keelung City, that Taiwan’s local council expressed its voice of justice, and denounced the CCP’s mass killing of Falun Gong practitioners.
