Clarifying the Truth is not political.

In our efforts to clarify the facts of the persecution in China, most people graciously accept the truth, and many indeed feel deeply moved and saddened to hear of the brutality of Jiang Zemin’s regime against innocent Falun Dafa practitioners. However, there are on occasion, people who consider that clarifying the truth regarding the persecution is in some way political. Please allow us to explain from a practitioner’s perspective, why we ask you to know the truth…

Falun Dafa is less about physical movements for health and well-being and more about applying, and ultimately, exemplifying "Zhen, Shan, Ren" [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance]; transforming our inner nature. Having gained so much from Dafa [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance], practitioners voluntarily introduce the practice to anyone wanting to learn, so that they too may have the opportunity to experience the wonderful benefits for themselves. Under the current situation, aside from holding free exercise classes and participating in local community events, we also promote Dafa to inform people about the Chinese Government’s vicious persecution.

The propaganda against us has not only been confined to China’s boundaries, it is a comprehensive suppression which has infiltrated its way extensively throughout the world, to all levels of government and media. As practitioners who practice “Truthfulness”, we feel it necessary to kindly clarify the truth of the nature of the situation to the people of the world. We have the utmost respect for Chinese people and their culture and are in no way against the Chinese Government, nor do we have any political agenda. To quote some words from Teacher Li, “if the evil hadn’t persecuted us, we wouldn’t need to explain the truth to people whatsoever. We also don’t think that our making appeals or presenting the truth right now is interfering with anyone. When being treated unfairly, people should be allowed to speak—this is a human being’s most basic right.” (Speech at the Western US Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference, October 21st 2000)

Orchestrated by a few high level officials within the Chinese Government, this is a direct assault on the principles of “Zhen, Shan, Ren”. The persecution aims at eradicating these principles from the hearts and minds of a nation with more than a billion people, and further extending this to the rest of the world. Of all the many thousands of practitioners being illegally detained and having to endure the most severe circumstances, not one of them has fought back, but rather, practitioners are responding with compassionate hearts. By standing up for goodness, we are offering all people an opportunity to further understand and experience the peaceful nature of Dafa, in contrast to China’s vicious propaganda, having been fabricated to eliminate our freedom to practice. Allowing the world to be aware of the facts subsequently lessens the persecution. If no one were speaking out for justice the persecution of millions of innocent practitioners would remain unchecked. Through peacefully explaining the truth, we provide an opportunity for all people to stand up for "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance”. In the process, people and governments throughout the world have come to understand us better and also speak up for justice.


As practitioners we believe in standing up for truth to all that opposes Dafa’s virtuous and universal qualities. Where is the world without Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance? To remain silent under such brutal persecution would equate to us as condoning extreme inhumanity in the world.

We are simply offering a voice to those who have been silenced, for those who have lost everything, including their families, for those who have been branded and sentenced as criminals for upholding traditional values, for those who, at this very moment, are being detained and tortured in prisons, forced-labour camps and mental institutions; for those extraordinary individuals who risk life itself to protect Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance!

Is not light the most challenging matter to darkness? Shadows are only temporarily consuming, but light, especially that of the Universe is all- encompassing! China's efforts to extinguish Dafa's dissemination of knowledge and practice of the fundamental laws that govern our existence seem more than futile... The light of a new dawn is unfolding with every righteous mind and pure heart!

Rather than perceiving this persecution in the eyes of the everyday world, as practitioners we attempt to view it from a higher vantage point. Is it not a unique opportunity to truly embrace and express our principles? Although Dafa includes developing one's own fullest potential through the cultivation of mind and heart, the principles, particularly “Compassion”, allow us to offer selflessness wherever we can!
