Chaos Ensues as Police Attempt To Kidnap Practitioner

After the officials in Tieling County received a secret order from the Jiang, they immediately held an urgent meeting and decided to assign Dadianzi Township a quota to arrest five Falun Gong practitioners. At around 6 p.m. on February 5, 2002, more than ten policemen including Li Weimin, deputy director of Tieling County' Police Department, and also Yun Ping, together with Zhang Zhicheng and Li Hongchang (a driver) from Dadianzi Township' Police Office went to female practitioner Ms. Gao Jie' home attempting to arrest her. By that time, Ms. Gao Jie happened to be taking a bath at a public bath house. The vicious policemen then illegally arrested practitioner Wei Guoquan who was cooking at Ms. Gao' home. After that, these vicious policemen broke into and searched all over the women' public bathhouse. With a righteous mind, Ms. Gao Jie escaped from the ensuing chaos. The policemen then broke into and searched people' homes going door to door. They even climbed over the compound walls to ransack people' homes. They set up checkpoints trying to trap Gao Jie and Nie Yuxian. The whole village was thrown into chaos, as if some bandits had invaded.

They attempted to trick female practitioner Ms. Chen Yaping into going to the police station, using the excuse of "verifying something," but Ms. Chen refused. Then, more than ten policemen broke into Ms. Chen' home. They pulled her out of bed by dragging her out by her hair. As a result, Ms. Chen' hair was pulled out in bunches. On January 21, 2002, the policemen arrested Mr. Chen Guisheng and Ms. Du Yeju without due cause. As of now, practitioners Wei Guoquan, Chen Yaping, Chen Guisheng and Du Yeju are illegally detained at Tieling County' Detention Centre. Along with them, practitioner Liu Zunzhu, Feng Wenzhong, and Zhu Lisheng are also detained. They are forced to collect stones in a quarry.

On February 9, 2002 policemen from Tieling County' Police Department and local police station went to Zhanggouzi Village of Shuangjingzi Town and openly extorted money from Dafa [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] practitioners. They threatened a couple, Mr. Li Shengxian and Ms. Zhang Yuxian, that they could spend the Spring Festival at home if they handed in 3,000 Yuan; otherwise, they would be sent to a detention centre. Since February 4, 2002, practitioner Zhang Bo, who is detained at Tieling County' Detention Centre without a valid reason, has been staging a hunger strike for nearly a month.
