Central News Agency reported on that former Canadian MP Kilgour and international human rights lawyer Matas held a press conference at the National Press Club of Canada in Ottawa on October 4th, 2006. They reiterated the findings of their investigation into organ harvesting atrocities in China and answered questions. Kilgour and Matas called on the Canadian government to take action to stop the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

In the past three months, Kilgour has been around the world. He has visited the European Parliament in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, many cities in the United States, and the United Nations in New York. He tells the media and political leaders wherever he goes about the results of their investigation into the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Kilgour mentioned at the conference that during the Summit meeting between the European Union and China in September, Foreign Minister of Finland raised the issue of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners to the CCP’s foreign minister.
Kilgour and Matas announced their investigation in May, gaining support from MPs in all parties in Canada. After the release of their investigative report, Secretary to the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Deepak Obhrai expressed that the Canadian government is very much concerned about the matter, and is considering how to conduct an investigation.
