On October 13th, 2006, the Spanish National TV Station II broadcast an interview with Falun Gong practitioners during the news. The daily evening news of the National TV Station II focuses on the hot topics around the world and has very high number of viewers.
Falun Gong practitioners and the programme presenter started using a question and answer format.
"Since 1992, every morning there were people practising Falun Gong in all the parks in China. People went to the park to do Falun Gong exercises first and then went to their respective jobs. Over 100 million people enjoyed their daily exercises and the sharing of experiences among themselves. However the Chinese regime’s dictatorial leader saw this as a threat to its power."
The presenter then said that before the former head of the Chinese Communist Party Jiang Zemin initiated the nationwide persecution campaign in July 1999, Falun Gong practitioners had been supported and acclaimed by various government organisations. Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death. Mr Carlos said that this persecution is one of the largest genocidal campaigns in history. He confirmed that in Spain a lawsuit against the prime culprits of the Chinese Communist regime who directed and were personally involved in the persecution of Falun Gong has been accepted by the Spanish high court.
Falun Gong practitioners have suffered torture, death and their organs have been harvested for profit. The UN and European Union’s suspicion of the existence of organ trading in China have been confirmed.
Mrs Zhang, a Falun Gong practitioner from China, described her experience in China. She said that a friend of hers who practices Falun Gong was kidnapped by the Chinese police to a secret place and was subjected to a detailed health check. She was only released when found unfit for possible organ trade. She said the place where she was detained was horrible and frightening. During her detention, her family had no news about her.
Another Falun Gong practitioner described that the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong has extended to overseas. He said that because he is a Falun Gong practitioner and because he refused to write a letter stating his renouncement of Falun Gong, the Chinese consul has refused to renew his passport.
During the news report, the TV station screened the peaceful scenes of Falun Gong practitioners doing exercises, the violent beating of Falun Gong practitioners by Chinese police in Tiananmen Square and the posters depicting the torture and organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese regime. The programme viewers therefore had a very stark visual experience.
