Japan: Falun Gong Practitioners Show the Beauty of Falun Dafa at NPO Festival

On October 21st-22nd, 2006, the Falun Dafa Association of Japan participated in the "NPO Festival 2006" in Yoyogi Park, Shibuya, Tokyo. They showed the beauty of Falun Dafa through music and dance performances and exercise demonstrations. Falun Gong brought a refreshing and righteous atmosphere to Shibuya, known as the birthplace of youth culture in Japan.

Falun Gong practitioners show their spirit through a wonderful art performance

The Charm of Tang Dynasty Art Group, established by Falun Gong practitioners, demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and gave a music and dance performance on a stage with a banner reading, "Falun Dafa Is Great" as the background. The programme included the fan dance, flower fairy dance and the choral work, "Coming for You." The audience showed their appreciation with warm applause and took Falun Gong introductory materials. A western scholar took pictures of the practitioners' performance and listened to their introduction of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. He said he would tell more people about what he learned.

At the Falun Dafa information booth, practitioners displayed a variety of publications including the introductory book Falun Gong in different languages, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, the NTDTV New Year Gala DVD, and photo albums. They also played an exercise teaching video and showed pictures of group exercise practice around the world. People continued to come to the booth throughout the day. Some Japanese people bought the book Falun Gong and some westerners purchased English copies of the book Zhuan Falun. Several local citizens bought the Nine Commentaries, while others bought the New Year Gala DVD. A group of Chinese students listened to the story of Falun Gong and browsed the "Journey of Fa-Rectification" Photo Exhibit. These young people were greatly moved by the facts in the peaceful energy field. They took the Nine Commentaries and some CDs with them.

The Charm of Tang Dynasty Art Group demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and gave a performance of the flower fairy dance. A female practitioner dressed in traditional costume narrated the exercises. Many people became interested in learning Falun Gong. Two Japanese dancers joined the flower fairy dance in high spirits. They also learned the Falun Gong exercises. Two women from Fukushima spent the whole time learning Falun Gong. They seemed to have come all the way to Tokyo just to learn Falun Gong. Some tourists didn't accept Falun Gong introductory materials at first but they were eventually fascinated and watched the exercise demonstration and dance performance with great attention.

Falun Gong practitioners taught children how to make paper lotus flowers and told children and parents about Falun Gong. The elegant bookmarks and lotus flowers fascinated children of all countries. They left happily with their lotus flowers that they had made themselves, and established a great connection with Falun Dafa.
