We are the family members of Falun Gong practitioners unjustly detained at the Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. Twice before, after overcoming numerous barriers, we published joint letters appealing to the international community. We exposed the brutal treatment of our loved ones at the Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp, where they are tortured merely because they practise Falun Gong.
Voices of justice from inside and outside the country severely condemned the labour camp, yet the labour camp authorities did not correct their wicked ways, but instead resorted to even more sinister persecution methods. The camp officials recruited several collaborators1 and deceived their family members into praising the labour camp and the roughnecks. They videotaped the process and broadcast it on TV to brainwash the general public. All the leaders are now hiding behind the scenes, and only a few young guards who are recent police academy graduates use the bait of reducing prison terms to instigate criminal inmates to beat our family members to the point of near-death. The methods are extremely cruel.
More than 95% of the guards at the labour camp are women. They became extremely violent and cruel following the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) encouragement and indoctrination. Their methods of torture include long-term sexual abuse, injections of unknown drugs, and sometimes putting drugs into practitioners' food and water. Some drugs cause near asphyxiation, some precipitate a mental collapse, others cause physical disabilities, and some cause other permanent damage. We want to expose a few recent incidents in order to stop this brutality that is annihilating the conscience and morality of the Chinese race.
Ms. Liu Dan, 28, lived near the Luowang Horticulture Farm in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. The deputy head of the women's forced labour camp, Ding Cailan, was promoted from average-level guard within three years solely because of her "contribution" in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Ding Cailan said, "Liu Dan's parents signed the appeal letter to the world. Now the only way to reverse the outcome is to do everything possible to "reform1" Liu Dan and make her talk to the international community." With directives from Ding and other head guards, Ms. Liu was repeatedly locked in the "taking the fort" room where she was shocked with electric batons, stabbed with needles, and smacked with sticks. She vomited blood frequently and was covered in wounds, but she still refused to give up her belief. The camp officials thought of another idea and colluded with guards from the Xinkaipu Forced Labour Camp in Changsha City. Ms. Liu's husband, Zhou Yongbin, was being held at the Xinkaipu Forced Labour Camp. They injected him with nerve-damaging drugs, precipitating his mental collapse. They told Ms. Liu about this, ignoring her fragile condition, and hoped she would "reform."
Ms. Wen Huiying, 53, was the financial officer at the Taoyuan County Shipping Company in Hunan Province. She was taken to the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in 2001, and was handcuffed to a metal bed and injected with drugs for refusing to write a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Dafa. Following the injections, she lost feeling in her limbs. Her family took her home in late 2002, when she was on the brink of death. She was arrested and sent to the labour camp again in January 2006. The guards vented their fury on her in retaliation for her family signing the appeal letter. Her blood pressure reached 200, but the guards didn't let her sleep for more than 20 days. They hit her head with metal coat hangers until the hangers broke and her head was covered in injuries. Ms. Wen persisted in her belief. The guards put her in a straitjacket, cuffed her hands behind her back, and tied her feet together. They forced her to stand barefoot on a wet tile floor in the winter. She couldn't stand still because of severe sleep deprivation, and fell repeatedly until she was covered in blood and her face was so swollen she couldn't open her eyes. The guards made her squat while stabbing her with large sewing needles, beating and kicking her, and hitting her with stools and brooms until they broke. Ms. Wen's hands, feet and legs became extremely swollen. Great pain also prevented her from eating. The guards force-fed her and purposely stabbed her throat with chopsticks and toothbrushes until these torture tools injured her throat. They knocked out her three teeth and also forbade her from using the toilet. She was soaked in water, blood, urine and faeces.
Ms. Shu Bilan, 61, worked as the head of the finance section at the Changsha City Telecommunications Bureau. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour and taken to Baimalong in 2001. She was shocked with electric batons and electric needles, which caused profuse bleeding. She was released in late 2002 but was taken to brainwashing sessions many times. She was sentenced to three years of forced labour in 2005 and was again taken to Baimalong. A group of guards headed by Huang Wenmin handcuffed her, and forbade her from sleeping, washing herself or sitting down for a long time. They also beat her and knocked out her teeth. They injected her with a large quantity of drugs, after which she developed a huge tumour on her neck. She was eventually diagnosed with late-stage brain cancer, and her family took her home.
Ms. Liu Yuwei, 37, worked as an accountant at the Yiyang City Frozen Meat Factory in Hunan Province. She persisted in Dafa practice and was taken to Baimalong in 2001 where she was held in a solitary confinement cell, put into a straitjacket, and tortured and shocked with electric batons. Her sentence was extended by one year. She was released in late 2002. Ms. Liu was arrested in June 2005 while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and was sentenced to 18 months of forced labour, again being taken to Baimalong. The guards deprived her of sleep for a long time and forced her to stand upright for long periods, which caused her to lose consciousness many times. Six people once stripped her naked and pushed several Y-shaped forks into her vagina. Such forks are used along with clothes hangers! Y-shaped forks couldn't be pulled out [for a very long time] and she suffered extraordinary humiliation and pain. She couldn't walk normally for a long time. At another time they didn't let her use the toilet for eight days and a stream of body fluid shot straight out from her navel. The guards were shocked at seeing this abnormal condition.
Ms. Xu Shaoan, 57, came from Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. Guards Fan Yingqiao and Peng Jinwen ordered four imprisoned drug addicts to torture her. They stabbed all of her fingers with needles and inserted the needles underneath her nails all the way to her first knuckle. The pain made her lose consciousness. After regaining consciousness they resumed coercion, attempting to force her to write a guarantee statement. The drug addicts shouted, "We can only get sentence reductions by hitting you harder and harder." Ms. Xu's face became deformed from the beatings. Guard Wang Huanxin ordered the inmates to make her stand for several nights in the toilet, where bone-piercing cold wind blow through. Ms. Xu still refused to write a guarantee statement. They laced her food with drugs, making her have a sudden mental collapse. Her family took her home, but she is no longer able to think or act normally.
Ms. Li Jiaju is in her fifties and came from Huangni Township, Yongxing County, Hunan Province. She was nearly killed at the labour camp when she arrived there in January 2006. The guards force-fed her with faeces and urine. They shoved a sanitary napkin and filthy towel inside her mouth. They deprived her of sleep and use of the toilet, and made her stand up or squat for long periods. They also poured cold water on her in the winter until she lost consciousness. They beat her when she came to and taped her mouth so she could not make a sound. She is currently near death, but the labour camp refuses to release her.
Ms. Zhen Xiaohua, 35, came from Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. She was not allowed to sleep at the labour camp and was also made to stand facing a wall or sit on a small stool. The guards hit her head, knees, thighs and other sensitive body parts with stools or sticks. They stabbed her vagina with wooden sticks and several toothbrushes tied into a bundle. Zhen Xiaohua's entire body became bloated but she refused to give up her belief. The guards put drugs in her food, causing her to become paralysed and confused. The labour camp told her family to take her home when she was near death. Her family took her to a hospital, but the hospital, saying her condition was too severe, refused to treat her. She passed away on May 17th, 2006.
Ms. Jiang Deying, 54, was a lecturer at Hunan Normal University and was sentenced to one year of forced labour in January 2006 at Baimalong. Guard Shi Yongqing sent her to the "taking the fort" room so she could hear the screams from other practitioners being tortured next door. Guard Shi Yongqing asked her, "Did you hear it?" He then began torturing her. He drew a circle on the floor and made her stand or squat in the circle. He deprived her of sleep, washing for personal hygiene, and toilet use. When she threw up from the beating, he forced her to swallow the vomit. She became bloated, and her face looked like a pumpkin. Some of her teeth were dislocated from the beating, and she bled from her nose and mouth. The guards proceeded to strip her naked and write vulgar and slanderous words attacking Dafa on her body. She refused to reform and was pushed into another room where her hands and feet were stabbed with needles. They gagged her with a towel and savagely beat her. Five people grabbed her and held her hand to force her signature on a prepared guarantee statement.
These horrific atrocities take place frequently at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp.
We have just heard about the plight of two Dafa practitioners--Fu Weijia from Yueyang City, who sustained a fractured leg from beatings, and Guo Mingqing from Shaoyang City, whose fingers were severally broken at this labour camp.
Our article does not begin to describe even a minute portion of the horrors that go on at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp. There also are many other similar labour camps in China. Persecution at this particular labour camp reflects the CCP's barbaric behaviour. The harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, which was exposed earlier this year, further reveals the CCP's cruel nature. As human rights lawyer David Matas has said, the organ harvesting is "a form of evil new to this planet."
The only thing this inhumane Party has accomplished during the past seven years of persecution is the exposure of its inhumanity, oppression, suppression and savagery of tormenting people who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. We have witnessed the bloody persecution firsthand and we, as well as other kind-hearted people, no longer cling to illusions about the Chinese Communist Party!
We will no longer passively endure the CCP atrocities! We will no longer lose heart for having nowhere to turn for justice! We will stand together with Falun Gong practitioners and justice-loving people inside and outside China, to completely expose this Party's crimes against humanity. We earnestly hope international human rights organisations and other people can come to China to investigate the CCP's crimes, and urge the Communist regime to immediately release all illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners. We are fully prepared to provide you, the investigation team, with powerful evidence and do our best to help you with investigation work.
We call out to other families of the millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Falun Gong practitioners are widely acknowledged as good people. Our loved ones didn't do anything wrong by practising Falun Gong. Don't wait or stay silent any longer! Our loved ones will be tortured and killed with our silence and cowardice, and only by stepping forward and exposing the Party's outrageous brutality will we suppress and disintegrate the Party and thereby rescue our families, ourselves, our country and our people.
