The dances, "Candlelight Vigil" and "To the Rightful Place" recently performed by Divine Performing Arts in Taiwan manifested how Falun Gong practitioners persist in their belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance".

The dance "Candlelight Vigil"

Mr. Lai Chingde, Tainan City Council member and director of the Asia branch of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG Asia), attended to the show. He said that it is amazing and great that Divine Performing Arts promotes traditional Chinese culture through the arts and has drawn so much attention throughout the world. He believes that the performance troupe will make a big impact in Taiwan.

Mr. Lai, who has been concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong for a long time, said that the excellent performance passed on important information about the persecution, and helped to raise awareness of the persecution.

Mr. Chiu Huangchuan, a human rights lawyer and the deputy director of CIPFG Asia

Mr. Chiu Huangchuan, a human rights lawyer and deputy director of CIPFG Asia, enjoyed the show by the Divine Performing Arts very much. He applauded the performers vigorously at the end of the show. Mr. Chiu said that the content of the show is really rich and comprehensively manifested the essence of Chinese culture. He also said that it is hard to believe that such a show cannot be held in mainland China.

Mr. Chiu said that he rarely sees such excellent performances in Taiwan. He said, "I cannot believe that the Chinese government doesn't allow such a good show to be held in China. It is a pity for China. I cannot understand how the show would hurt China."

Mr. Chiu emphasised that the show is not only art, but also the manifestation of conscience. He said that if the show cannot be held in China, it means that the Chinese people have no freedom to express their conscience.

Mr. Chiu pointed out that the persecution of Falun Gong not only violates human rights, but also damages the development of culture.

He expressed that the dances that exposed the persecution, such as "Candlelight Vigil" and "To the Rightful Place," were very profound and told people of the existence of gods.

Mr. Chiu pointed out that the fact that the Divine Performing Art troupe cannot perform in China indicates that the Chinese government violates human rights. He added that this is against the spirit of the Olympic Games. Mr. Chiu said that the international society has the common understanding that the Olympic Games should be held in a democratic country. He said that if the Chinese government doesn't improve their human rights situation, especially if the Chinese government doesn't stop the persecution of Falun Gong, then the international society should consider boycotting the 2008 Olympic Games in China.

The Asia branch of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong was set up on December 10th, 2006. It consists of people from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Hongkong and Malaysia. The CIPFG requested the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to open all prisons, labour camps, detention centres and hospitals to the international society for investigation of the persecution of Falun Gong, especially after the allegations of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
