Four Practitioners Died as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Zhang Jinrong, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in May 2000 and was arrested by the police at the Shuangcheng Train Station. The next day she was taken to a detention centre, where she was held for half a month. While she was detained, she suffered terrible physical and psychological injuries. She never recovered after her release and passed away in September 2000. She was only 44 years old.

Mr. Cao Yujie was 71 years old and lived in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He started practising Falun Gong in 2005. Cao Yujie suffered a lot because the police severely persecuted his wife. They lost 30,000 yuan1 in the form of fines. Police harassed them and searched their home many times, exacerbating Cao Yujie's heart condition. He passed away on November 13th, 2006.

Mr. Chen Qi from Meihua Town, Maoming City, Guangdong Province started practising in April 1997. He was detained many times after the persecution began and subjected to constant harassment, resulting a relapse of his liver disease. He passed away on May 15th, 2007. Mr. Chen was 53.

Ms. Yang Ronghua, MD, was an associate director of the Henan Agriculture University Affiliated Hospital. She took up the practice of Falun Dafa in 1997, which led her to recover from her illnesses. On July 14th, 2000, Yang Ronghua went to Beijing to appeal and was brought back by the Zhengzhou police on July 18th. She was detained for 19 days. During her detention she was fined heavily. It cost 500 yuan each time her family visited her, and they visited a total of 14 times, totalling 7,000 yuan. After she was released, the police continued to pressure her. The abuse Ms. Yang suffered caused her liver disease to recur, and she had swelling all over the body. Ms. Yang passed away on April 29th, 2001 at 61 years of age.
