Holland: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong in Rotterdam

On August 25th and 26th,, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners in Holland introduced Falun Gong and exposed the Chinese communist regime’s persecution, including organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, in Rotterdam's central square. They set up information boards depicting the persecution of Falun Gong and the practice's spread throughout the world.

The information boards attracted many pedestrians who stopped to read them and take the flyers distributed by practitioners. Most of the people were aware of Falun Gong but few understood why Falun Fong was persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Practitioners explained in detail to them the intrinsic evil nature of the Chinese communist regime and the brutal suppression that the Chinese people have endured under its half a century reign. As the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) brews falsehood, hatred and struggle and could not tolerate the widespread popularity of Falun Gong which promotes truthfulness, compassion and tolerance, it launched the persecution, forcing Falun Gong practitioners to abandon their belief. Upon hearing so, a lot of people said, “It is really unimaginable that practising exercises and holding a belief in truthfulness, compassion and tolerance should have led to such a merciless persecution.” Many of them supported the boycott of the 2008 Beijing Olympics unless the regime stops persecuting Falun Gong.

Accompanied by peaceful music, Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises in the square. The exercise demonstration attracted a large audience. A lot of people asked for information about the practice site and expressed their intention to further understand Falun Gong. A Dutch woman said the gigantic strength of the energy field made her feel so comfortable that she stayed at the site for a long time.

After witnessing people’s joy in receiving the material, practitioners were enlightened that they need to continue their efforts so that the magnificence of Falun Gong can be implanted in more people’s hearts.
