The first Caribbean cultivation experience sharing conference was held in Guadeloupe on November 4th, at St. François in the Eclaireurs de France building. Practitioners from Martinique in the Caribbean also attended the conference.
Practitioners arrived three days before the conference and participated in various activities to promote Falun Gong. The experience sharing conference lasted for a whole Sunday. Forty practitioners in total shared their experiences in how they improved their characters and spread the truth. A lot of practitioners were moved to tears on hearing the accounts.
On Thursday and Friday, before the experience sharing conference, practitioners held group study of the principles of Falun Dafa and group exercise sessions. On Saturday November 3rd, practitioners went to Basse-Terre for a parade, passing the Bailiff Town Hall on the way. Wherever the practitioners went, flyers and newspapers were being distributed to people and the facts about the persecution of innocent Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party were explained to businesses on the way.
The parade ended in front of the Basse-Terre Town Hall, where some practitioners had already set up a display. When the Mayor’s car passed in front of the displays, he came out especially to tell the practitioners that they can also go to another part of town where there are more tourists and people. Practitioners thanked the Mayor and moved their displays. Next, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, and raised awareness about the persecution to passing citizens and motorists. A local journalist interviewed the practitioners.
At night, practitioners held a candle-light vigil in Victor Schoelcher Square. Victor Schoelcher is a famous historical figure, who once contributed to the abolition of slavery in the Caribbean. The square is in front of the Basse-Terre Town Hall, and the vigil mourned the innocent Falun Gong practitioners, persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist Party for their belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance”.
