Bulgarian practitioners from all over the world gathered on March 22nd, 2008, in front of the Chinese Embassy in Sofia to protest the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The protest was held together with a group of people who are sympathetic to Tibet. The event drew the attention of the media and passersby.

Later that day, practitioners separated into groups and handed out flyers about Falun Gong in China as well as information exposing the Chinese Communist Party's interference with the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Chinese Spectacular in Sofia. They also collected signatures against the continued persecution of Falun Gong in China.

During the day hundreds of citizens and visitors to Sofia learned about Falun Dafa and expressed their support. Hundreds of signatures against the persecution of Falun Gong in China and in support of the Divine Performing Arts Spectacular in Sofia next year were gathered. Hundreds of passersby received informational flyers and learned about Falun Gong and the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. People were shocked by the persecution that extends beyond China in the form of pressure over Bulgarian authorities and attempts to interfere with numerous initiatives aiming to clarify the truth about Falun Gong.
