Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Dafa in July 1999, the Xu family has been targeted repeatedly. The CCP murdered the family's oldest son, and now, with the loss of the grandson, more pain has been inflicted on the family. On March 12th, 2008, 13-year-old Xu Dingguo passed away after many days of thinking of his parents, who were detained. He didn't even have a final opportunity to see his parents before he died.
Guizhou Women's Labour Camp authorities did not allow his mother, Ms. Chen Yumei, to see her son before he died, nor did the Guiyang public security police, the procurator of the Yunyan District, the Baihua Mountain Detention Centre, and other related staff allow his father, Xu Qihua, to see him one last time before he was buried. Instead, the CCP attempted to put Xu Qihua, Li Donghong, and Jia Lian, all practitioners who have been detained for six months, on trial. The trial was first switched to April 1st from March 28th, and later to April 10th. Xu Qihua and Li Donghong are still being held in Baihuashan Detention Centre in Yunyan District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province.
In 2000, five members of the Xu family went to Beijing to voice their grievances about the treatment of Falun Gong. The two oldest were sent back home to Panxian City, where they were detained for two months until they were notified to pick up their son's ashes in Beijing. Their oldest son, Xu Guangdao, was beaten and tortured to death by the political commissioner, deputy director, and instructor of the Dongcheng District Detention Centre. Although their second oldest son, Xu Qihua, managed to escape arrest, he had to travel on foot about 1,800 miles to get home, which took him over a month.
Xu Guangdao's father Ao Chengmu was forced to take an unknown drug that damaged his memory. He has still not recovered to this date. The CCP personnel also took away the Xu family's land. Originally it was passed off as a forced sale, but the money was never paid.
Many practitioners became destitute as a result of the CCP's persecution. They went to Beijing on foot to appeal for Falun Gong many times. However, when they arrived, what they faced was torture and forced labour. Almost all of the practitioners in Pan County have been detained or put into forced labour since the persecution of Falun Dafa began in July 1999.
In February 2007, dozens of practitioners in Guizhou were arrested. Seven of them were sentenced to forced labour. Xu Qihua's wife Chen Yumei and his brother-in-law Tan Guangwan were taken away during a raid, and they were taken to Zhongba Forced Labour Camp in Guizhou Province. In 2008, five of these practitioners were forced into brainwashing sessions. Jia Li'an, a practitioner from Anshun City, went on a hunger strike to protest the Guizhou National Security Police's persecution when he was detained. He is still being held, handcuffed and shackled to a bed in the Taiciqiao Police Hospital in Guiyang City. He is very physically weak. The police have repeatedly urged his family to send them money while keeping him detained.
The Xu family's land was confiscated by the CCP, and their oldest son was persecuted to death. Their second oldest son, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law were detained. All of the young adults in the family are being detained, and only the two eldest and the children are left to live by themselves. Their grandson has passed away, and their second oldest son, Xu Qihua, will soon be tried in court.
Every prison in Guizhou Province has persecuted and tortured Falun Gong practitioners to death. Han Ming, 30 years old, died after being given an injection by Gu Xinying, a police officer from the Guizhou Women's Labor Camp. Douyun Prison authorities persecuted Wu Botong, 70 years old, to death in a matter of days. Zheng Dinghe, over 60 years old, was beaten to death by personnel from the Youzha Street Police Station, the Lannigou Detention Centre, and the 368 Armed Police Hospital. Yangai Prison officials tortured Yang Hongyan to death. Ye Fenglin was persecuted to death by Zhongba Forced Labour Camp personnel.
We demand the immediate release of Xu Qihua, Jia Lian, Li Donghong, and other practitioners who are detained, as well as an immediate end to the persecution.
