Using the upcoming Olympic Games as an excuse, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials are persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Shuanghou Town on a large scale. So far, the police have arrested four practitioners. Two practitioners left home to avoid persecution, many have been harassed and interrogated, and homes were searched.
On May 27th-28th, 2008, twelve people from the Qinan County 610 Office1, the criminal division and from the National Security Branch teamed up with Shuanghou Town Police Station agents. They went unannounced to the western part of Shuanghou Town and conducted searches, harassment, interrogations, arrests, and ransacked homes. The four arrested practitioners are as follows:
Mr. Liu Changde, is 55, from Shanglang Village. The police confiscated a desktop computer, a laptop computer, two DVD burners, one printer, one mobile phone, a number of MP3 players, 1,450 yuan in cash, Falun Gong books, and some materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. They also began monitoring his residence. Mr. Liu's wife was able to escape. His mentally ill son was home alone.
Mr. Pang Zhihua, 35, from Shanglang Village. Police officers confiscated Falun Gong books and leaflets, one satellite dish, one MP3 player and two mobile phones. The sudden intrusion stunned Pang Zhihua's parents and wife. They didn't know what to do. His young child cried and wanted his father.
Mr. Liu Naiyan, 40, from Donglingzhuang Village. The police didn't find anything at his home, so they viciously arrested him. There is now no one to attend to his farm work and business.
Ms. Liu Naizhi, 37, from the Agriculture Division in Shuanghou Town. Police officers confiscated Falun Gong books, leaflets exposing the persecution, one satellite dish, and one MP3 player. Her apparel business had to close, and her husband is extremely worried.
The above four practitioners are currently held at the Qinan County Detention Centre, and have been subjected to interrogation and mistreatment. At the same time, the police harassed people from Dongling Village, including Liu Naishuang, Liu Naihai, Liu Naiming, and others.
The police still won't stop harassing Mr. Liu Naichuan's family even after his death. Mr. Liu died not long ago as a result of persecution. The police gathered twice at Liu Naichuan's home and threatened his neighbours in order to obtain information about Liu Naichuan's family.
At present, this group of police officers and Chinese Communist Party members attempted many times to arrest practitioner Gao Hongzhou from Shanglang Village, but never succeeded. They did not give up, and singled out other practitioners. Gao Hongzhou chose to become homeless to avoid further persecution.
We call on the international community again. Please extend your helping hands for justice, and help stop this merciless persecution.
