In the run-up to "Global CCP-Quitting Day", activities supporting the 39 million Chinese people who have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organisations were held in nine cities in Germany on June 28th, 2008. These cities include Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Duisburg, Koeln, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Munich. Many people signed to support the "Millions of Signatures Global Campaign" urging the Chinese Communist regime to put an end to the persecution of Falun Gong before the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games.

Frankfurt: Former Mao supporters become anti-communism supporters
The CCP-quitting activities were held in front of St. Paul’s Church, where the first German Constitution was passed. As Article one of German Constitution stipulates, “The dignity of man is inviolable,” the purpose of holding the CCP-quitting activity was to uphold the dignity of the Chinese people.
Some elderly Germans identified themselves as Mao supporters in the 1960s, as they didn’t know what really happened in China during that period of time. However, the gradual exposures of the facts coupled with a great deal of contemplation of the matter over the past decades, most of them have become anti-communists. They thus signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution.
Take Dr. Serge Novozilov for example. He first came to the booth to sign the petition, and then came back to tell the volunteer workers at the CCP-quitting Service Centre that he was a fanatical worshipper of Mao Zedong in 1960s, but afterward he contemplated it over and over again and found that communism is an endless calamity to humankind. He therefore gave up communism and felt regretful about his deeds in the past.
After leaving for a while, he came back for the third time and said, “I am happy to see the establishment of the CCP-quitting Service Centre. Finally some people would like to fight the last bastion of communism in the world.”
Duisburg: Police security measures are reinforced to protect the CCP-quitting Service Centre
As the Duisburg Police Bureau had already heard about the incident in which Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing New York were attacked by the Chinese incited by the Chinese Consulate, the police especially reinforced its security measures to protect Falun Gong practitioners throughout the activity. A plainclothes policeman especially asked the practitioners at the CCP-Quitting Centre if they were harassed by anyone. He also emphasised that some Chinese students were among the people who would make trouble once they saw any anti-China activities. He said, “If they harass you, please let us know as soon as possible.”
Regardless of the fact he was on duty, a police officer signed the petition calling for an end to persecution of Falun Gong after reading a leaflet.
Stuttgart: Chinese students quit the CCP-affiliated organisations
There are over 2,000 Chinese students studying in Stuttgart, which is an industrial city in Germany. On every summer vacation, many Chinese students go there for part-time jobs. A volunteer of Quit the CCP Centre in Stuttgart said, “Nowadays most of Chinese students have very good attitude and are willing to accept the information of the CCP-quitting and the Nine Commentaries on the CCP. A volunteer for instance. He personally persuaded 8 or 9 students to quit the CCP organisations.
It is said that nowadays young people are more concerned about themselves than the world. However, two western youngsters less than twenty years old deeply impressed the volunteers of CCP-quitting Service Centre in Berlin.
A high school exchange student from France very carefully watched the large photos of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and Chinese people. He told Falun Gong practitioners, “I know that CCP’s Media only say good of themselves and never report this kind of news.” After leaving the booth for a few minutes, he came back to ask practitioners for Falun Gong websites so as to hyperlink it to his personal website to let more people know CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Zuher Jazmati, an 18 year-old high school student, was attracted by the banners regarding Chinese human rights at the booth right after coming out of the subway station next to the “CCP-quitting” booth. He immediately came to ask for a copy of every kind of material in German and English to read carefully at home. He said, “At the Fall of the Berlin Wall, I was only one week old. But when I grew up, I read a lot of articles about what had happened during the Communist rule. Every Communist nation has very severe human right violations. Fortunately, most people are against this autocratic regime.”
Munich: Chinese tourists: Thank you for your efforts.
Munich, the famous city in Southern Germany, has long been a hot place for tourists, and Chinese tourists are no exception. According to the people at the CCP-quitting Service Centre, it seemed that more Chinese people passed by that day. Some people filled out the declaration form to quit the CCP, some people took photos repeatedly in front of the banners of Quit the CCP, some people accepted the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and said that they’d like to read it carefully, some people said very gratefully to the volunteers of the CCP-quitting Service Centre, “Thank you for your efforts,” and even some people shook hands with volunteers to give their regards.
A young man, who came on a tour from China, together with his friends, listened to volunteers’ explanation about the meaning of quitting the CCP. He kept listening very seriously. When his friends left for shopping, he told volunteers quietly, “More than twenty people of my whole family have quit the CCP. My mom is practicing Falun Gong.” Volunteers were very happy to ask him to send their greetings to his mom.
Recently the European Cup was held in Switzerland and Austria and many soccer fans came around to Munich for tourism. A lot of Germen came to sign the petition when hearing that the purpose of the activity was to stop CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong; many tourists and soccer fans from many countries also signed the petition. Roland Vollodet, a soccer fan with hair tinted in black, red, and yellow, which symbolises the colours of the German national flag, signed the petition immediately, as soon as he heard of the atrocities of the CCP harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He said, “Nothing is worse than this. This is the extreme end. This kind of thing definitely can’t be allowed to continue.”
A female Chinese changed her rigid mindset after she came across Falun Gong practitioner for the second time. A young Chinese lady passed the CCP-quitting booth along with her colleague. In fact, she saw Falun Gong’s anti-persecution booth last April and discussed something about the persecution with practitioners, but she didn’t believe that the cruel torture on displayed photos did happen in China.
It was his second time to come across Falun Gong practitioners’ at the CCP-quitting booth this time. A female practitioner told her, “The CCP is not China. What Falun Gong practitioners have done is to expose the Chinese regime’s atrocious deeds, and it is by no means meant to insult Chinese people. German people are quite clear about this these concepts. As a result, what Germen have criticised is the fact that the Chinese regime abuses human rights and suppresses Chinese people.”
This Falun Gong practitioner also reminded the lady that the CCP party culture is not Chinese culture. Finally, this Chinese lady accepted a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the CCP and the newspaper covering the incident that some Chinese were instigated by the Chinese consulate to attack Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing, New York.
Koeln: After a permanent CCP-quitting Service Centre was established, some Chinese quit the CCP on the spot
As in Munich, Koeln is a city along the Rhine, and it is also a tourist attraction that most people cannot go without seeing. Falun Gong practitioners from Koeln and nearby cities set up the CCP-quitting Service Centre in the square in front of the Koeln Church several days per week. Many Chinese tourists withdrew from the CCP or its affiliated organisations on the spot. It was no exception at the CCP-quitting Service Centre set up on June 28th.
In addition to the Chinese practitioners who made use of their language advantage to explain the facts to Chinese tourists, some Western practitioners also used English or German to talk to them. Though it might be hard for them to communicate with the Chinese tourists, their presence was enough for the Chinese tourists to realise that Falun Gong is also popular among Westerners.
Hamburg: A German who realised the evil nature of the Communism said, “Good for you! We support you.”
As Hamburg was once situated on the border between East Germany and West Germany, its residents are especially impressed with East German Communists’ inhumane nature. Therefore, local residents are more than willing to accept flyers distributed by volunteer workers at the CCP-quitting Service Centre. At first, some people were not sure if the flyers were for or against the Communism, so they hesitated to accept the flyers. But after they came to know that the activity was to expose the Chinese Communist regime’s evil crimes, they asked for the flyers, and signed the petition so as to stop the human right persecution in China. Upon knowing that the Service Centre was to help Chinese people to quit the CCP, they gave thumbs up to the practitioners and said, “Good for you! I support you.”
