As the opening of the Olympics approaches, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) becomes more and more frantic. The 610 Office1 of Haicheng City and the police stations have held several meetings to accelerate the persecution of Falun Gong. Large-scale arrests of people with spiritual beliefs, cultural dissidents, and people who visit appeals offices is taking place, and the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners has severely intensified.
Holding the Olympics in China is supposed to be a good thing, however the CCP is persecuting and killing Chinese people in the name of the Olympics, turning a supposedly peaceful Olympics into another excuse to commit violence. This behaviour actually defames the Olympics. I am not against China holding the Olympics, but I am opposed to the CCP persecuting innocent Falun Gong practitioners in the name of the Olympics.
In our city, eight instances of police searching Falun Gong practitioners' homes and arresting them occurred in June alone. Cases of police harassment occurred in every district of the city.
On the morning of June 6th, 2008, officers from the State Security Group, Haicheng Police Station and Xiliu District Police Station arrested practitioner Yi Baohai and detained him for 15 days.
At around 9:00 p.m. on June 17th, 2008, officers from the State Security Group, Haicheng Police Station and Niuzhuang District Police Station broke into practitioners' homes by climbing over walls, and searched and tried to arrest the practitioners. Practitioners whose homes were searched include Tian Baowei, Tian Baocheng, Cui Chunbiao, Cui Yajing, Tang Guixiang, and Ji Changchun. Tian Baowei wasn't home because he had migrated to work in a city. Ji Changchun's wife firmly resisted the police so they couldn't do anything. Tang Guixiang was arrested and detained for ten days. Cui Chuanbiao's wife was harassed by the police while Cui Chunbiao, in his seventies, was still held in the Dalian Prison.
In mid-June, 2008, practitioner Fu Xiuyan who lived in Zhanqian area was arrested.
At around 10:00 a.m. on June 27th, 2008, 610 Office agents broke into practitioner Hou Weiyu's home in Weijiapu Village, Ximu Township, and detained him at the Haicheng Detention Centre.
On June 27th, 2008, practitioner Fu Yushu from Wangtai Township, Haicheng City, Liaoning Province was arrested by the CCP police.
At 2:00 p.m. on June 27th, 2008, Lian Xiaohai and Zhang Cheng, directors of Niuzhuang Police Station, and two or three police officers broke into Tian Baowei's home again. Han Gongying, a villager from Zhongxiao happened to be working on fixing the heating system in Tian's home. The police took Han Dongying to the police station without any justification, and officers from Dongxiao Police Station went to search Han's home as well. They took Han's personal belongings including a laptop computer and a printer. The police interrogated Han Dongying, using mind games to try to force him to defame his uncle Han Baolai.
On July 1st, 2008, policemen from the State Security Group, Haicheng Police Station and Zhongxiao Township Police Station broke into Hou Changku's home in Qianxiao Village and arrested him while he was working in the field, and also searched his home. Another female practitioner (name unknown) was arrested at the same time.
