Police in Zunhua City, Hebei Province Arrest Mr. Zhao Jingjun

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 6th, 2008, Wang Kunyuan (male), others from the Domestic Security 610 Office in Zunhua City, and more than ten officers from the Dongjiusai Township Police Station broke into practitioner Mr. Zhao Jingjun's house in Qihu Village. They ransacked his home and arrested him.

Mr. Zhao lives in Qihu Village, Dongjiusai Township, Zunhua City, which is under the jurisdiction of Tangshan City. Before practising Falun Gong, he had many illnesses. He couldn't tolerate the cold and wind, often got headaches, had drug allergies, and also had a very bad temper. After he started to practise Falun Gong, his physical and mental health improved, as did his bad temper.

In October 1999, three months after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong, Mr. Zhao went to Beijing to appeal. He was detained in a toilet by personnel with Tangshan City's liaison office in Beijing for three to four hours and then transferred to the Zunhua City Detention Centre, where he was detained for approximately three weeks. During that time, prisoners grabbed him by the ears and made him walk in a circle. They put a wash basin on the floor, told him to walk around it, and beat him if he stopped. In addition, CCP officials extorted over 4,000 yuan¹ from him.

In late autumn 2000, Mr. Zhao was deceived by the Dongjiusai police into going to the police station. After he arrived, he was taken to the Zunhua City Detention Centre and held for 40 days. During his detention, he was not given food unless he paid for it. The CCP officials didn't provide any winter clothes, and they didn't allow his family to bring them from home. They then extorted an additional 1,000 yuan from Mr. Zhao.

In August 2001, the CCP ransacked Mr. Zhao's home for a third time. He was arrested and taken to Zunhua City Detention Centre and detained for three months. During that time, he was subjected to forced labour to produce burglar-proof doors. He was not allowed to use the toilet for eight days.

Mr. Zhao Jingjun has now been arrested by the CCP for the fourth time. In addition to his arrest, the police kicked his three-year-old son and sprayed mace into the faces of his ten-year-old son, Yangyang, and his 60-year-old mother. The chemical was very irritating to their eyes, causing redness and pain.
