Mr. Li Wenzhi of Wangqing County Missing After Release From Labour Camp
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenzhi, 40, is a resident of Wangqing County, Jilin Province. On April 18th, 2008, a student from Dongguan Elementary School in Wangqing County reported him to the police. He was arrested at his home in Dongguang Town by officers from the Dongguang Police Station. Mr. Li was sentenced to 18 months of forced labour by agents of the National Security Division at the Wangqing County Police Department and taken to the Yinmahe Labour Camp in Jiutai City.
In late August, Mr. Li's parents received an unexpected phone call from the Dongguang Police Station. The elderly couple was puzzled when police asked them whether Mr. Li had returned home. The officer said he was calling on behalf of the labour camp. He said that Mr. Li had been released on August 18th, and that the police had received a copy of the release certificate with Mr. Li's signature. The labour camp wanted the Dongguang Police to confirm whether Mr. Li had returned home.
Mr. Li' parents, brother, sister, and other relatives are seeking information about his possible whereabouts, as he remains missing.
It is unknown why Mr. Li was released on August 18th or why the police who arrested him were called ten days later. When Falun Gong practitioners are released from custody, their families or local police are usually notified to pick them up. But no one received any notification when Mr. Li was released. Ten days after the fact, the labour camp asked local police to look for him. But Mr. Li never returned home and has not even contacted his family. This is highly unusual and extremely suspicious.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Lizhuang, an orthopaedic physician at the Nan'gang Medical University Hospital in Harbin City, has been missing since March 2008. There is still no information on his whereabouts.
