United States: The First Global Chinese Martial Arts Competition in New York Concludes

The First Global Chinese Martial Arts Competition held by NTDTV concluded on September 28th in Manhattan. Li Youfu, the chair of the judging committee, stated that the goal of the competition is to promote traditional martial arts and the moral standard they contain. Many martial arts masters attended the competition.

Zou Zenghua, a judge of the competition, said that many masters from different schools attended the competition. "They came to the competition, not pursuing fame, but to promote the martial arts and train the young generation. I was truly moved," he said.

Four hundred martial arts masters from Asia, Europe, America and Australia attended the competition. Many people in the audience learned what real martial arts are. There were even some non-Chinese contestants.

There are four categories in the competition: Neijia style, Chang Style, Nan Style, and Weaponry. Thirty contestants entered the finals, and the closing ceremony was held at 8:00 p.m. Li Youfu, Li Zong, the president of NTDTV, Lu Yuanrong, the director of the New York Chinese Culture Center, and Chen Shicong, a famous sword maker, issued the awards and certificates to the winners.

The champions in each category won a specially made sword and five thousand dollars. The second place winners won a sword and three thousand dollars. The third place won two thousand dollars and the "excellent performers" won five hundred dollars.

The contestants said that this was a precious chance for all the martial arts practitioners to share experiences and learn from each other. Most contestants were very good. They praised NTDTV for organising the competition and giving practitioners this chance. The contestants believed that the competition was very successful and meaningful.
