“Where is your petition form and may we sign it?” On Marlene Square in Munich, Germany, a young woman and man from Taiwan asked Falun Gong practitioners who were busy setting up their exhibition stands.
On the afternoon of October 25th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners were preparing for an event to raise awareness of how the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong. Practitioners also expressed support for the 44 million Chinese people who have withdrawn from the CCP and its associated organisations. They were busy setting up exhibition boards, stands and banners. As soon as the pictures disclosing the persecution were laid and the display panels were not ready yet, several people came closer asking to sign the petition to express their support for Falun Gong practitioners. According to Falun Gong practitioners, during the event, they felt that people were anxious to know why the evil CCP persecutes Falun Gong. Many people asked for the related material. Many other people who already knew about the persecution earlier signed the petition immediately.
There are often thousands of people in Marlene Square (City Hall Square) at weekends. Peaceful music together with Falun Gong practitioners gently doing the practice formed a strong contrast with the noisy surroundings. People were so attracted by this scene and came over to read the display panels before them. The panels carried pictures depicting Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted by the evil CCP and well as images of practitioner's global efforts to end this persecution. After seeing this, many people would come to the stand asking what they could do to help.
The young man mentioned above told a Falun Gong practitioner, “As my father practises Falun Gong, I know the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP.” An elderly German lady told the practitioner that those who have persecuted Falun Gong would receive retribution for what they have done sooner or later.
