A Good Daughter-in-law Arrested, Her Sick Mother-in-law and Blind Father-in-law Left Unattended

On February 17th, 2009, police officers arrested Ms. Jin Daxia at her work. They also took away her son, threatened him, confiscated the family's property, and confiscated the computer that he uses for school. Those who are familiar with Ms. Jin Daxia were shocked upon hearing the news of her arrest. Since her husband died in an accident she has been looking after her elderly, sick mother-in-law and her completely blind father-in-law. Now they are left at home alone.

On the morning of February 17th, 2009, under the direction of Hong Wei, the director of the 610 Office¹ in Tongling County (specializing in persecuting Falun Gong), and Rong Jun, the State Security Division Chief of the Police Department in Tongling County, police officers arrested Ms. Jin Daxia at her work. They also took away her son, who attends the Anhui Provincial Engineering College in Tongling City, threatened him, confiscated the family's property, and confiscated the computer that he uses for school.

Those who are familiar with Ms. Jin Daxia were shocked upon hearing the news of her arrest. Ms. Jin Daxia is sincere, kind and humble, and follows Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She is a good person to everyone. She has won praise at work and among her relatives and friends, as well as from her neighbours.

Ms. Jin Daxia, 46, lives in Tongling County. She was a bus driver hired by Zhongming National Tax Bureau of Tongling County. Her husband was killed in a traffic accident, and it is Falun Gong that enabled her to get through the terrible ordeal of losing him and to keep hope in her heart. It has been very difficult for her to shoulder the heavy burdens of everyday life by herself, holding down a job, taking care of her son and looking after her elderly, sick mother-in-law and her completely blind father-in-law.

When her in-laws found out that Ms. Jin Daxia had been arrested, they felt bitter sorrow. Her family was very worried about her personal safety and feared that she would suffer torture.
