Pu Yufeng, the former chief of the Baiyigala Town Police Station in Guo County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province, had been a policeman in Dashan Town, Guo County. In the past few years, he closely followed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun Gong. When he worked in Dashan Town, he mistreated many practitioners. One year ago Pu was promoted to chief of the Baiyigala Town Police Station in Guo County. Before the Beijing Olympic Games in August 2008, Pu and several other officers arrested Ms. Huang Yajun, a practitioner from the Hongguang Farmland of Baiyigala Town. Before that they had been closely watching Ms. Huang's home for several days. At about 10:00 p.m. on June 21st, 2008, they cut the bolt on the gate to Ms. Huang home and broke in. Beating and kicking her violently, they ransacked her home and arrested her. Later she was sentenced to 18 months of forced labour. This was Ms. Huang's second sentence of forced labour. She is now in the Heizuizi Women's Labour Camp, Changchun City, Jilin Province.
One night, Pu Yufeng led a group of police officers, including those from the National Security Group of Guo County, to the home of practitioner Mr. Wei Senlin in the 3rd Subordinate of the Hongguang Farmland of Baiyigala Town. They tried to force Mr. Wei to sign a statement to give up Falun Gong. Under great pressure Mr. Wei reluctantly signed.
After that he asked the police, "Falun Gong advocates Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Isn't that a good thing?" The police responded, "What? You still practise Falun Gong! You are under arrest."
When they tried to arrest him, Mr. Wei broke loose from their grip and ran out the back door. The police shouted, "You dare to attack the police!"
After the police caught up to Mr. Wei they cruelly beat him right in front of his family members. They kicked him so violently that his collarbone was broken, and even the police baton used for beating him was broken into pieces. Mr. Wei sustained a terrible cut on his head, over 10 cm long, which bled profusely. In front of his family, the police stripped Mr. Wei, stuffed him into a police vehicle, and arrested him. At the police station they tortured him further. Then they sentenced him to 18 months of forced labour. Now, he is being held in the Yinmahe Labour Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province.
Mr. Zhang Chunlin, a practitioner from the Hongguang Farmland, was the chief of the first subordinate of the farmland. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, he went to appeal for Falun Gong, and was sentenced to 1 year of forced labour, and his position as chief was suspended. At 7:00 p.m. on July 1st, 2008, Pu Yufeng led a group of police to Mr. Zhang and took him to the Guo County Detention Centre. On August 5th, he sent Mr. Zhang to the Yinmahe Labour Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province. Because Mr. Zhang appeared to have symptoms of hypertension, the labour camp refused to accept him. Pu and other officers then brought Mr. Zhang back to the Guo County Detention Centre.
On September 1st, two days before Mr. Zhang was to be released, the police in the detention centre injected him with some unknown drugs, claiming to be treating his hypertension. They gave him a second injection on September 2nd and released him that night. After going home Mr. Zhang remained in a coma for several days. After he regained consciousness he suffered from mental disorder. He was illogical in his speaking, and had lost his memory about the past. He is still in an impaired mental state, and his family members need to be keep an eye on him wherever he goes.
According to some insiders, when Mr. Zhang was injected with the drugs, a kind police officer in the detention centre poured much of the drug out of the syringe, and only part of the drug was injected into him. Otherwise, the consequence would have been much worse.
Above is only a small sampling of the crimes that Pu Yufeng has committed against Falun Gong practitioners. During the Beijing Olympic Games he arrested many practitioners and sentenced many of them to forced labour. The victims included Ms. Bao Shuqin, Ms. Ju Mingxia, Ms. Ma Xiuwen, Mr. Wang Yanxiang, Mr Wen Jianzhong and her daughter Wen Wen, Mr. Wei Senlin and his sister-in-law, Mr. Lu Shizheng and his wife, Mr. Li Dongjun and his wife, Mr. Cong Guowen and his wife Ms. Pan Guihua, Ms. Tai Binglan, Mr. Zhang Chunlin, Mr. Zhang Chunxiao, Mr. Qiu Yuanquan, and several other practitioners whose names are unknown to us.
Pu Yufeng also extorted large amounts of money from practitioners. Family members of many arrested practitioners, in their desire to rescue their relatives, paid Pu Yufeng, which in turn motivated him to arrest more practitioners to make more money. Full details regarding this extortion of money are still unclear. Pu Yufeng should be held responsible for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
