Ms. He Ping from Jiayu County in Hubei Province Detained Since the Olympics

Ms. He Ping, 52-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, is an English teacher at the Chengbei Middle School in Jiayu County, Hubei Province. Local police detained her before the Olympics and sentenced her to two years of forced labour. Ms. He is now being tortured in Hubei Provincial Women's Forced Labour Camp. This is the third time Ms. He has been taken to a forced labour camp, where she is again being pressured to give up her belief in Truth-Benevolence-Forbearance.

Ms. He has been imprisoned a total of six years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Her mother, who is over 80 years old, is bedridden and has no one to take care of her. Ms. He had also been caring for a nephew less than a year old. Her husband divorced her several years ago because of the persecution.

On July 23rd, 2008, with the excuse of "protecting the Olympics," police officer Zhang Ming from the Jiayu 610 Office¹ and a policewoman from the Nanjie Police Station arrested Ms. He on her way to the bus station where she was to meet relatives. Police officers Huang Bihong, Li Anfu, and others took Ms. He to Yuyue Police Station. Shortly after, a group of police officers, with Sun Zongwen in charge, broke into Ms. He's home and ransacked it. They confiscated a computer, money, Falun Gong books, and related materials. They even made a video recording of the ransacking. The police did not notify Ms. He's family.

Ms. He's elderly mother went to the township police station after hearing of her daughter's arrest. She demanded to see her daughter. The police refused her request and did not provide a reason for the arrest. They then took Ms. He to the No. 1 Detention Centre of Jiayu County. When Ms. He's family demanded her release, they said, "We will release her after the Olympics."

After the Olympics, the CCP did not release Ms. He. Instead, she was secretly taken to a forced labour camp. When the labour camp at first refused to accept Ms. He, people from the Jiayu 610 Office and officers from the police station and detention centre bribed the labour camp officials. Ms. He was then admitted at the Hubei Provincial Women's Forced Labour Camp. Her family was not notified.

Ms. He has been detained and tortured for over six months simply because she refuses to give up her belief in Truth-Benevolence-Forbearance. She has been deprived of sleep for long periods of time, and drug addict inmates have been ordered to abuse her. There is a curtain of silence from the labour camp, so no more details are available about Ms. He's actual condition.

We call on all kind hearted people inside and outside of China to to help stop this persecution of benevolent people in China, a persecution that has already lasted for ten long years.
