"Slow down your steps, and check out these beautiful and heart-shaking paintings!" Photographer and artist Yu Hai told the visitors at the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance International Art Exhibition at the National Taiwan Library. The international art exhibition runs for twelve days starting June 3rd, 2009. Taipei County Council Member Ms. Liao Xiao-ching, secretary of Jhonghe City Mayor's Office Mr. Ou Yung-hsi, photographer Mr. Yu Hai, Professor Yang Shao-fu of National Chiao Tung University and musician Mr. Wang Heng-yi of Chou Ta-kuan Foundation attended the opening ceremony and press conference on the morning of June 7th.
The artworks at this exhibition were created by Falun Dafa practitioner artists. Their work expresses pursuit of truth, praise of Buddha and the sharp contrast between the good and the evil.
Taipei County Council Member Ms. Liao Xiao-ching told the reporter, "I am amazed at many things at the art exhibition. I feel very shaken. It makes your heart bleed, but after seeing the artwork, you feel a strong power."
Professor Yang Shao-fu said it was first time he had come to such an art exhibition. He thought the artworks of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were inspiring, and they deepened understanding of life made great influence on the value of life.
Musician Mr. Wang Heng-yi said, "They are all true stories! The reason why the artworks are so lifelike is because Falun Gong practitioners unfolded their true life experience! They not only cultivate themselves, but also teach others to be happy and save others."
Mr. Ou Yung-hsi, secretary of the Jhonghe City Mayor's Office, said he was deeply touched by the painting of the little girl calling for the end of the persecution in the rain. Mr. Ou said his sister and brother-in-law also practise Falun Gong, and they had changed a lot. They had excellent health and never had to see a doctor.
On the same day of the opening ceremony and press conference, the Flag and Drum Troupe, children of Minghui Kindergarten and the Cai Qiao Art Group performed on Victory Memorial Square next to the library.
According to the exhibition guides, many people had visited the exhibition since it opened on June 3rd, including mothers and children, students and the elderly. A gentleman in his eighties followed the Pudu music in the rain and found the art exhibition. He said he knew the nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and said that what Falun Gong practitioners were doing was great! A two-year-old little boy told his mother he saw many many rotating things at the art exhibition. His mother said she didn't see anything. The little boy must have seen the rotating Falun.
Ms. Chou Yi-hsiu, representative from the Falun Dafa Association in Taiwan and art teacher, said that art was a way to spread the truth. Falun Dafa practitioner artists were calling for the end to the persecution through their artwork. When the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance International Art Exhibition traveled to Kaohsiung, Mr. Chen Chia-shang, a well-known artist, chairman of Asian Ink Painting Association, and director of Taiwan Ink Painting Association, viewed the exhibition and said, "The paintings in the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance International Art Exhibition are the best I have seen in seventy years. Presenting facial expression is the most difficult thing in painting, but the works here accomplished that." National Exhibition Committee member, chairman of the Kaohsiung Art and Culture Association, and well-known painter Mr. Li Chuncheng said that every painting was first class. He added that many were masterpieces.
