Police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Guihong and sent her to the Lannigou Brainwashing Centre. It happened as she informed people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispelled the state propaganda attacking the practice at her own store on July 9th, 2009. She has still not been released. Agencies that participated in the act are people from Guiyang City: Zhaiji Police Station, Guiwu Police Station, Daying Police Station, Daying Community and Zhaiji Administration Office.

Ms. Zhao Guihong is 40 years old. Six plain clothes police arrived at her fruit stand at 10:00 a.m. on July 9th, 2009. One of them pretended to buy fruit and chatted with her. Ms. Zhao spoke to him about the persecution of Falun Gong. Soon, two officers from the Zhaiji Police Station broke into the store, seized Ms. Zhao Guihong and transported her to the Guiyang City Baihuashan Detention Centre, where they detained her for 15 days. When Ms. Zhao's family went to the police station demanding her release they were told, "We will release her in 15 days."

Two weeks after the incident, on July 24th, Daying Community heads Du Xiaolan and Wen Yuxia, along with people from the Zhaiji Administration Office, went to Ms. Zhao's home. They said that unless the family persuades Ms. Zhao to give up her Falun Gong practice they would send her to a brainwashing centre. Zhou Junfeng from the Zhaiji Administration Office said, "Zhao Guihong has practised Falun Gong for over ten years. This time she should be detained for a little longer."

Ms. Zhao's 15-day detention term was over on July 25th, 2009. Three family members went to the Baihuashan Detention Centre to bring Zhao Guihong home. However, people from the Zhaiji Police Station, from the Guiwu Police Station, the Daying Police Station, those from the Daying Community and Zhaiji Staff Office all went to the Detention Centre as well. Their purpose was to take Zhao Guihong to a brainwashing centre. Ms. Zhao resisted the new development with determination and shouted, "Falun Gong is good." Two police vehicles arrived. Six people dragged Ms. Zhao into one of them and drove her to the Lannigou Brainwashing Centre. Police told the family, "You can't blame us for this. It was because of her stubbornness. We have to send her to the brainwashing centre to fix her. We will release her when she is reformed."

On July 27th, The family went to the Lannigou Brainwashing Centre to check on her current circumstances. The centre head pretended kindness and let the husband of the newly-weds meet with Zhao Guihong, but added, "Only if she changes her mind, can you take her home." The brainwashing centre head told the family to persuade Ms. Zhao to give up her belief.

Ms. Zhao's family knows about the cruelty of the Chinese Communist Party. They have suffered from enormous mental pressure. Ms. Zhao's father has been sick and hospitalized, and other family members have also been impacted to varying degrees.
