Practitioner Mr. Ge Kun was forced out of school, arrested, and detained for one year and three months. Finally, at 8:30 a.m. on September 18th, 2009, Mr. Ge was "tried" by Judge Mu Aiping, with judicial officers Lu Baoqing and Li Hong of the court of Hanting District in Weifang City present. The court imposed a most severe nine year prison sentence on Mr. Ge who is just in his 20s. The prime of his life has been snatched by a vicious Chinese Communist Party (CCP) system.

Mr. Ge Kun is a pure-minded, kind hearted person. After he was forced to leave school due to CCP persecution, he did many kinds of temporary work. Mr. Ge never bargained or pursued his personal interest, even when others took advantage of him. All co-workers and bosses he ever worked with speak highly of him. Even so, the police of Weifang city arrested him when his mother was being locked away at Wang village forced labour camp of Shandong Province.

On July 9th, 2008, as early as 6:00 a.m., police from the Domestic Security Division of Weifang City arrested Mr. Ge from his home and took him to the detention centre of Weifang. Later, he was transferred to Changle Detention Centre, which is 25 km (25 miles) away.

During the period Mr. Ge Kun was in prison, he was interrogated and tortured brutally by Gu Zhiyong who heads the police of Domestic Security Division of Kuiwen District Court in Weifang City, together with police from the detention centres of Weifang and Changle. Two such instances follow:

In July 2008 at Weifang Detention Centre, Mr. Ge Kun was tied to a "cross" formed from steel pipes. His arms were out-stretched and legs bound tightly using leather belts. (His body is already on a cross leaving this description hard to comprehend; at least, I don't understand how the two steel bars were used then his body was put above two steel bars in diameter 1.5 cm and spaced about 10 cm, only his head could move a little.) Mr. Ge was left to endure such extremely painful circumstances for six days, during which he lost consciousness many times. After Mr. Ge was removed from the "cross", he could not even move by himself. Such torture would eliminate many in one day, and at most three days tops. However, the guards left Mr. Ge in this condition for six days.

In December 2008, Mr. Ge Kun was interrogated again. Mr. Ge's relatives brought some warm clothes for him that the guards of the Changle detention centre refused to accept. In the following days, an extreme cold front in Weifang resulted in temperatures as low as -16 ºC (3 ºF). Thinly clad, Mr. Ge was forced to stand outside by guards who proceeded to pour cold water on him. Immediately, Mr. Ge was frozen stiff.

After Mr. Ge Kun had been imprisoned for more than one year, Hanting District Court ignored his lawyer's defence, and sentenced him to nine years imprisonment. Mr. Ge Kun is the only child and the hope of his parents. After the court's heavy sentence, his parents can neither eat nor sleep well for missing him.
