Ms. Guo Enlan and her family, from Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, benefit from practising Falun Gong. They tell people the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution using many different means. They have consequently been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese authorities, and three of them have died as a result of persecution.
At 4:00 p.m. on November 7th, 2009, Gao Yucheng from the National Security Team, along with four plainclothes police officers, apprehended Ms. Guo at the Jiayuan Residential Area. She is being held in the Liaoyuan Detention Centre. The police also took her computer, printer, and many other items. This is the third time she has been arrested. Another female practitioner was arrested at the same time.
It was said that Ms. Guo was followed by plainclothes police when she went to Computer City to have her printer fixed. The National Security officers said they had monitored the two practitioners for more than a month.
The following are accounts of persecution of Ms. Guo's family.
Ms. Guo Enlan's husband, Dong Zhe, was arrested by the Baiquan police in November 1999. In October 2001, he was arrested again by Pi Fuguo and other agents from the Liaoyuan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). He was tortured via many different methods, and was not released until he was very weak. He died in August 2003 at the age of 56.
In November 1999, Ms. Guo Entian, the second oldest brother of Ms. Guo Enlan, was arrested by Pi Fuguo and other agents from the Liaoyuan 610 Office. In September 2002, he was arrested by the Liaoyuan Police Department, and was later detained at the Baiquuan Detention Centre and not released until he was severely ill. After he went home, his condition kept deteriorating, and he died in April 2009.
Ms. Xie Lianying, Mr. Guo Entian's wife, was arrested by Gao Yusheng and other officers from the 610 Office and the National Security Team. She was detained in the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp for two years. As a result of persecution, she became very ill and died in May 2006.
Ms. Guo Enying, Ms. Guo Enlan's youngest sister, was arrested by officers from the Dongliao County Police Department in May 2008 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was released in May 2008.
Ms. Wang Shufen, Ms. Guo Enlan's niece, was arrested by officers from the police office in Ernong Township, Liaoyuan City, in January 2000. She was detained in a forced labour camp for 18 months. In December 2007, she was arrested again and sent to a labour camp for another 18-month term.
Gao Yusheng has arrested many Falun Gong practitioners. He has deployed his men to follow and monitor practitioners. Since November 2009, Ms. Li Ying, Ms. Sun Liping and her husband, Mr. Guo Lan, and Mr. Wang Yingwen have been detained. Police also took their personal property, including computers, printers, and bank books with balances totalling 30,000 to 40,000 yuan1.
