Ms. Tang Lijin's son contacted Qiuyue Residential Area police officer Mu Yang at 10:00 a.m. on January 28th, 2010. His employer required him to have an official seal on certain documents. Mu Yang didn't process his request, but instead took Ms. Tang's son to Ms. Tang's home and ransacked it.
Mu Yang, along with officer Gao Zhijie and some members of the Qiuyue Residential Committee, broke into Ms. Tang's home without a warrant, or giving any reason. They shouted, "Search, and find the equipment!" Mu and Gao threw things everywhere, making the room a big mess. Mu found several copies of Falun Gong books, thinking he would get an opportunity to be rewarded and promoted, and reported his findings to his superior. The Beita Police Department dispatched two more officers and took Ms. Tang to the police department's basement, where victims are tortured to extract confessions.
