On March 27th and 28th, Falun Gong practitioners from Japan attended the 18th Cherry Festival in Toyota City, Aichi County. Practitioners demonstrated and taught the exercises. It was their sixth time performing at this annual festival.

A lady from Nagoya came to the festival with her parents-in-law, who live nearby. She learned the exercises and felt a strong energy field. She had heard about the persecution of Falun Gong before and asked practitioners about the situation in Japan. Practitioners told her that Japanese people are supportive, and when practitioners hold parades or rallies, Japanese police officers help practitioners keep order. She said that only a tyrannical power, such as the communist party, would persecute such a peaceful group.
The population of Toyato is 420,000, about 3000 of them Chinese. Many Chinese people came the festival. Some young Chinese took photos of practitioners' banners, which read "Falun Dafa Is Good" and "Free Teaching: Improve Mind and Body." Practitioners passed out many informational materials, and told them about the spread of Falun Gong all over the world and the trend to quit the Chinese Communist Party. Some of visitors quit the Communist Youth League with practitioners' help.
