Practitioners Mr. Wan Guohua and Ms. Li Fengxiu were sentenced for distributing Falun Gong fliers by the Linchuan Court in Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province.
Mr. Wan and Ms. Li live in Jianchang Town, Nancheng County, Fuzhou City. On the evening of January 9th, 2010, police arrested them for distributing Falun Gong fliers in Dongguan Township, Linchuan District, Fuzhou City. On April 8th, 2010, the Linchuan Court sentenced Ms. Li to five years and Mr. Wan to three years in prison respectively.
While they were detained at the Shangdundu Detention Centre in Linchuan City, police denied their family visitation rights. The mother of Mr. Wan went to the detention centre, when it just so happened that her son and Ms. Li were about to be taken to prison. Guards then gave her a choice of paying either 50 yuan1 for a 10-minute visit or 100 yuan for a half hour visit.
