Ms. Feng Yunqing, a Beijing Falun Gong practitioner, has most recently been persecuted for two and a half years in Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp. She has served her sentence, but the Chinese Communist Party refuses to release her. Her family is very worried about her.
Both Ms. Feng and Her Husband Persecuted
Ms. Feng, 41, used to work for a foreign company in Beijing. She was persecuted three times by the Chinese Communist Party because she cultivates Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The first time was in 2001 for one and a half years; the second time was in 2003 for three years; this last time was for two and a half years .
Ms. Feng's husband was persecuted twice because of cultivating Falun Gong. He was sent back to his hometown from his house in Beijing. Their son, who is 15 years old now, is in the second year of middle school. He is in the care of his grandmother, who is over 100 years old.
Arrested and Taken to the Shanxi Camp before the Olympics
Ms. Feng ran a clothing retail store in Miyun County in Beijing. She was arrested in November 2007 when she was distributing exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in a block of flats. She spent two and a half years in Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp.
Before the Olympics in 2008, she was transferred to Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp. She is still there now, even though her sentence is up, because she refuses to renounce Falun Gong.
There is a "strictly monitored team" in Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp, which was set up specifically to persecute practitioners. The conditions in that team are the worst in the entire camp. Ms. Feng Yunqing is always assigned to that team.
